If cutting corporate tax is good for business as Republicans claim, then why didn’t they eliminate them entirely?

Surely that would grow the economy way faster, according to their theory.

    even corporations should pay taxes on income, that is what it is called, an Income tax return, they make income, they pay

    It is good for businesses, they make more money. What it doesn't do is trickle down to workers.

    That would have been my preference. Taxes discourage whatever activity is being taxed, and it makes no sense to discourage business enterprise. There is no particular rational reason to tax business profits.

    The government still needs some money to operate on. Like to keep up the military and border security and maybe some roads

    They are aiming for a balance. You can agree with the rate or not but that's the idea.
