what is 1/4 + 1/2 x 1/5 with order of operations in fractions?

    1/4 + 1/2 x 1/5

    multiply first (BEDMAS)

    1/4 + 1/10

    To add or subtract change to a common denominator, which is 20

    5/20 + 2/20 = 7/20

    If you don't know the common denominator, just multiply the two denominators to get it. You'll have to reduce more but that works

    1/4 + 1/10

    = 10/40 + 4/40

    = 14/40 = 7/20
