How will arming teachers with guns help the problem of school shootings?

If teachers carry guns, who will know who the real shooter is and who isn't? Won't it cause mass confusion and leave more victims dead because cops will end up shooting anyone who has a gun?

Since most shooters come in with rifles and the teachers would be armed with hand guns only, I don't think it would be hard to figure out.

Your hysterical assumptions don't reflect reality. If even one teacher at Stoneman Douglas had been armed, there's a good chance Cruz would have been stopped before killing 17 people. If teachers had been armed beforehand and this was known to the community, Cruz might not have gone through with it at all.

Even a small chance of it working is infinitely better than your solution, which apparently is to disarm everyone else while people like Cruz continue shooting up schools unopposed.

There was an armed "School Resource Officer" at the school, who stayed outside the school even as that lunatic was running around the hallways shooting. The teachers themselves don't want to be armed.

    It's a stupid idea.

Aside from the presence of armed personnel being a deterrent , return fire can stop an " active shooter " .

It's noted that the average school shooting last only 3 minutes while the average police response time is 8 - 30 minutes .

The shooting will be over by the time police arrive .

If guns are the solution, then logically everyone must have a gun or this is just a half measure.

Every student and teacher, janitor. Lunch lady with a little Derringer strapped to her fatass thigh.

It's not going to help... and the idea came from a complete imbecile.

But I suppose that imbecile got voted president... so there must be more imbeciles out there...

When a crazy kid walks into the school, and starts shooting people....the teacher with the gun is going to be able to easily recognize the kid with a gun isn't another teacher with a gun. Once the crazy kid is done with....the teacher can put the gun back in a holster until the cops arrive, and can peacefully follow the orders of the cops.

But moreover....do you think someone who wants to kill people will choose a room they suspect contains an armed teacher?

The gun crazies have lost their collective minds

We know this is true because they don't care what extremes society has to go through to allow them to selfishly have no restrictions placed on their damned guns.

The gun crazies have sucked down so much NRA Kool-Aid that they honestly believe that the authors of the Second Amendment would have approved of our daily gun carnage

Well, I don't think the teachers will be walking around with AR-15s. Also, cops aren't stupid.

hopefully there will be witnesses. and if that's not enough, add more security cameras in schools.
