The 10 commandments were given to ancient Israel in support of the laws of love. They are practices that, if observed, help us become more Christ like.

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22:37-40

He said they were the Greatest Commandment and that all other commandments were contained within these two. Take that to mean what you wish.

Love "fulfills" the law. Living by the law is to merely comply with it, despite the heart. You can refrain from murdering someone, thereby keeping the law, yet still hate someone; the spirit of murder. Love goes way beyond the law. Love renders the 10 Commandments obsolete.

No, because 9 of the 10 commandments were carried over to the New Testame3nt. The missing one is the 9th, to keep the Sabbath Holly.

We are told at Matthew 5:17+18 Jesus' words: "Do not think I came to destroy the Law (Ten Commandments) or the Prophets. I came, not to destroy, but to fulfill. Truly I say to you that sooner would heaven and earth pass away than for one stroke of a letter to pass away fro the Law until all things take place." By loving God, our fellow believers, our neighbor and even our enemies, we prove to be automatically obeying all laws everywhere. LOVE covers everything in our lives. Jesus said as recorded in Mt 22:35 And one of them, versed in the Law, tested him by asking: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

Note he did not say replaces, but he simplified the Law that people were living by, if one loves God and neighbour you wouldn't offend God or wrong your neighbour. Although we're not under the Mosaic Law the righteous principles and standards still apply and this is done by our loving Jehovah our God and loving our mankind; our neighbour is anybody we're in contact with anywhere, think on the teaching Jesus gave using the story of the ''Good Samaritan''.

    Romans 13

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

No, the first 4 commands are to show your love for God and Christ, and the last five are to show your love to your fellow man, "on these 2 commands hang all the law of the prophets"

No, He taught and demonstrated that living by the Spirit surpassed the Law.

He didn't teach anything. He's made up.
