I think you are referring to the urine creatinine value of 45. Urine creatinine values are not interpreted the same as blood creatinine values. Urine creatinine values fluctuate greatly with very dilute urine in the 10 range up to very high levels in the 100's and this can change very rapidly. The urine creatinine value is used as a yardstick in evaluating hydration status of the urine ie very dilute or very concentrated. We need this yardstick in order to evaluate other constituents of urine such as protein. It's the ratio that is important when interpreting the protein/creatinine ratio. The urine creatinine value of 45 by itself means very little.
