Read Revelation 12. He was cast out of heaven when he lost the war there, and he is on earth. "The devil is going about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may destroy." Satan and his minions can make themselves into "angels of light" to deceive gullible humans into disqualifying themselves from heaven and eternal life. He is not fictitious, though the caricatures of him are. Be careful. Your only protection is to get a guardian angel, and you only get one of those if you give your loyalty to Jesus.
