It's very unlikely that they even looked at it. They are developers and investors. Those guys don't usually worry about how the grass gets cut. That's like 4 levels down.

If I had a nickel for every human relations officer in a hiring position that helped some one get around the written directive of a company I would be a wealthy man!
It is very possible the events in question took place, but to assume it was the result of President Trumps clearly expressed desires is a leap in responsibilities. There are several layers of management between Trump and the hiring office. Just where the deviation from written instructions took place is the question.
I am assuming of course that there is no written instructions directing some one to violate the law signed by Trump. There could be, but I honestly don't think Trump would be that dumb.
