Did Thomas Edison Invent the Bikini?
A guy at work told me Thomas Edison invented the bikini, but it was too racy for them Victorian times so it never got manufactured until years later, which kinda makes sense. I know Edison invented hundreds of things including even really dumb stuff that never got made, like edible cork, so maybe is it true he invented the bikini too? And did he invent it as swimwear or as undergarments? And could you get sent to prison for wearing it back then? And did he invent microkinis too?

Two piece swimming costumes have been used at various times throughout history. But the modern bikini is usually credited to French designer Louis Reard. He and another designer, Jaques Heim, independently came out with relatively skimpy two piece swimsuit designs at about the same time in 1946. However, Reard, who made his skimpier is closer to what we now think of as the bikini. He also was the one who coined the name "bikini" since he debuted his swimsuit a few weeks after the atomic weapons test at Bikin Atoll in the Pacific. (Heim had billed his swimsuit as the Atome, because it was "the smallest swimsuit in the world")

LOUIS RENARD is credited with the modern day BIKINI
but ACTUALLY there is ROMAN art work in the VILLA ROMANA del CASALE c. 286 - 305 AD in SICILY depicting the BIKINI
or strips of fabric covering portions of the female breast and Pubic region that women wore

The idea of Edison having invented the bikini is no more far fetched than the idea of Leonardo da Vinci having invented the first helicopter, which he definitely did (or at least he designed it). Dismissing folk as trolls purely because they're asking an unlikely-sounding question isn't especially pleasant. As for who invented the bikini, it probably just evolved, possibly in various areas of the world at different points in history. Louis Réard may have popularized the concept, but it doesn't take a fashion designer to come up with the idea of wearing two separate garments, one on the upper body, one on the lower. After all, who invented wearing jackets and pants in combination? Probably nobody. Yet the practice evolved all over the place.

No. Edison was in ladies bloomers.

Janus Sueseti invented the Bikini, but when it was invented women had to also wear an outer garment so it escaped the fashion news.
What Thomas did was to develop an edible version so that sharks would not get indigestion from eating women swimmers.

If you believe me maybe I could interest you in a nice bridge what was only used on Sundays by an old maid scholl teacher in Nevada (just a short walk to the beach).
