First of all, I suggest you have your cat checked by a vet, especially if the cat is older. Inappropriate elimination is often a first sign of health issues, especially kidney issues. There is a lot that can be done for kidneys if you know it’s happening but you need a vets help to find out.

That being said, obviously you want to have a clean and tidy catbox that is constantly maintained. And VERY worth the cost is a product called Dr. Elsey’s cat litter attractant. It’s an herbal blend you mix with your cats clay litter and it “inspires” them to use the litterbox. I’ve used that with great success, have also given some of what I bought to others and it resolved their issues as well.

You can't. I had a vinyl beanbag that my one cat kept peeing on. I had to toss them finally. She never peed on anything else - just that beanbag.

You must pee on your cat. It's the only way it'll learn.

You might want to give the bean bags the heave ho. If you do and your cat starts peeing somewhere else, then you might to consider making your cat an outdoor cat.

Vet check to make sure she hasn't got a UTI, get the cat nuetered if it is not already, a UTI will encourage cats to pee where it is more comfortable for her to do so, non nuethered means she will mark territory.

The beads inside give off a smell, that to a cat is like another cats pee, which will make any cat mark over it and once it has marked it will continue to do so, so throw away your bean bags as you will never remove the smell and it will become a habit and make her more anxious

Put the bags where she can't get to them.

Can't stop her because this is what she has accustomed herself to.

There are cat counselors that are very effective at getting to the real problem. They communicate with the cat telepathically.
