What do you do for flare ups? I have predisone but I only want to use it when I can't bear the pain anymore.

When I suspect a flare, I try and rest as much as possible. For me it's in my hands, so I try and mobilise as well. Taking an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen or naproxen with avoid a full on flare and reduce the severity of a flare. I try and pay more attention to things like my diet and I stop exercising if on the verge of a flare.
Basically I try and rest and look after myself, and then if thats not enough then I take medicine too. This is what I do to manage for myself, I guess for you, you'll have to figure out what works for you. It's not easy learning to live with a long term condition. Wish you all the best x
