A ground is 18 meters by 28 meters ,it s around is a road which s width is 1 meter how many chips will be placed of size of 40 square cm ?

    Ground = 18 x 28 = 504 sq m

    Ground + road = (18 + 1 + 1) x (28 + 1 + 10 = 600 sq m

    Road = 600 - 504 = 96 sq m = 96 x 10,000 sq cm = 960,000 sq cm

    960,000/40 = 24,000 chips

    Area of road = 60+36 = 96 m^2

    Area of chip = 0.004 m^2

    Number needed = 96/0.004 =

    24000
