How long should you marinate chicken before cooking?

    I usually marinate it for around 2 hours, but its ok for anything from 30 minutes to 3 or 4 hours, any longer would start to break down the chicken, especially if its a particularly 'Strong' marinade.

    That depends on what kind of marinade.If the marinade includes any kind of citrus (which is acidic) then its best to marinade only an hour or two most (otherwise it will get "cooked" by the acids).If no citrus is used,then you can marinate up to overnight if you like.

    a couple hours. Probably not longer if your marinade involves an acid as it can make the meat mushy
