It is obviously true and it is interesting how alarmists try to weasel around that obvious fact. Their need to exaggerate for their Cause is greater than any interest they have in facts and reality.

It is not only possible, to predict the outcome of pouring unrestrained carbon into the atmosphere well beyond with what the planet can cope, but in any reasonable assessment it makes no sense to talk of "long-term", since being an emergency, the issue is upon us.

All Greta Thunberg is asking leaders to do is to take seriously the mainstream-science proving there is a climate emergency. She does not have to provide solutions, since it is for leaders seek solutions from mainstream-science as a matter of urgency.

What she has come up against is the reaction of people who have got used to human irresponsibility in releasing massive amounts of carbon into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels, while at the same time destroying the trees that would have trapped carbon. The negative-reactions she often gets, are from leaders and other people who are capable only of “making fun” of people referring to the mainstream-science consensus on the climate emergency. Such skeptics are trapped in a psychological comfort-zone, for which the following generations will likely pay the ultimate price if nothing changes quickly.

This means release of such amounts of carbon into the atmosphere that are well beyond with what the Planet is capable of coping, and such that are continuing to cause out-of-control increase in global temperature.

By the way, forget the “Lip-Service Paris Climate Accord”, since there is little evidence of sincere action on resolving the climate emergency being taken internationally.

I am not a scientist but the following would need to be done:

Reduce greed in relation to electricity consumption.

For example and as “a start”, it should be made illegal for any electrical equipment to be kept on “standby” from normal mains electricity. If such a function were to be genuinely needed, then it should be powered by a rechargeable battery, rechargeable by a solar power collector.

Immediate disuse of fossil fuel power stations, with transitional-use of nuclear power.

Emergency increase of the use of green energy, such as solar power.

Solar power collecting cells to be applied to the side of tall buildings and on sloping roofs, to contribute to the national grid.

Emergency reforestation through targets set (to be implimented immediately) for reforestation, to applied to every country in the world where trees are capable of growing.

International sanctions against countries:

> failing to stop deforestation.

> failing to met targets (see above) on REforestation.

The urgent implementation of hydrogen-powered vehicles including cars and motorbikes (currently still far too expensive to the consumer), which produce zero adverse emission, and urgent implementation of hydrogen infrastructure for such vehicles.

Urgent research on alternatives to the use of fossil-fuel based plastics.

Electric cars continue to be an environmental-con, where the power stations from which they are recharged are powered by fossil fuels.

exact forecasts have never been the aim of climate science. In fact we've shown it's mathematically impossible to be exact - so what's your problem? We can still make informed predictions - of course if you're a republican you don't know anything about being informed

Luckily no one actually tries to predict exact states, what you usually see are predictions of average states. As Lorenz made people aware of, the same problems exist in weather forecasting, which is why it's difficult to get an accurate weather forecast beyond a certain time wind, but meteorologists now use ensemble forecasting typically with the initial states for the ensemble members chosen to have the fastest growing Lyapunov vectors. That gives us an estimate of whether we are at the forecasting horizon or not, and averaging typically yields a better forecast than the deterministic solution.

False, many predicted climate states have occurred already

It sounds like you do not believe the Sun and its cyclic natural occurring variances is not the major driver of the Earth's climate.

Therefore, the IPCC Anthrogogenic Global Warming theory is on your table. Their numerous climate models using CO2 and the Greenhouse theory as the major drivers have all failed in their predictions because they are based on junk science. In other words man made climate change is a farce.

That depends on how "exact" is "exact". If you want the precision of the prediction of the next day's temperatures (down to the hour), not yet. And how accurate do you want to be? Right now, I'll settle for the trend toward more heat, more and stronger storms, and greater extremes of precipitation, both high and low. Time to tell Big Energy to shove their disinformation where the sun don't shine and DO something about the problem.

Really doesn't matter. Human impact on this planet, especially in the last hundred years or so, has been horrific. We treat this tiny little miraculous speck of a planet and everything on it like crap.
