It's probably a fact that any guy who'd allow himself to be vetted even before starting to date a girl would be compliant in other ways too. But someone like this may not be the kind of boy a typical teen girl wishes to date.

Fathers aren't always good arbiters. Daughters need to learn and experience life and make their own decisions.
