I usually eat my spouse first then save the children for dessert

I was always given to understand that when it comes to a feeding time, that if you stand on ceremony and allow others to eat first, you will usually find that when your turn arrives, you will find that there is nothing left.

The kids. They're littler so if once you've eaten them and you're not ravenous enough to eat the life partner you can spare it for some other time. Expectation this made a difference.

If you mean the family is all sitting down at the table. The head of household gets the first plate. This is the provider who made provisions for the family to have food. Then the children get their plates. And finally the preparer get their plates..

Then you bless the food, cook, world, Whatever......

Then you all eat together. With the kids doing clean up afterwards, if old enough.

It depends on the cook.

If the cook can't cook very well, it's better for the children to eat first. That way they can be observed and if they start showing signs of food poisoning, you and the spouse can eat something else.

Its a shame you will never be anything but a burden to society.
