My cat keeps hiding from me. Her breathing is terrible and she is starting to stop and eat.?

I know I need to take her to the vet but I can t catch her. I ve tried for two days. I tried corning her so I could grab her but I still can t catch her. I can t keep doing this to her. Chasing her around is making it worse. Something is very wrong. I don t know what to do. Any advice?

Update:

She's only 5.

Update 2:

If you can get her to come out of hiding, throw a blanket over her. Grab her up in the blanket and put her in the carrier. Putting her in usually works best when you have the carrier face up with the door open to the ceiling.

Good luck! I really hope she is going to be okay.

Likely a heart problem but it could be anything (minor to major).  I would try to confine her to one room with a carrier in it.  Try some chicken treats to get her to come to you.  The smaller the space, the easier it is to catch her.

Cats love boxes. If she is as lethargic as you say she is, get a cardboard box and cover it with a towel, make it nice and dark. Leave it alone for a few hours and eventually she might go in. If you discover she is in, get infront of the box and close it up. Hope this helps 0~0

Chase into one room and shut the door. Have a friend help you catch her.

She needs to go to the vet.  She sounds very sick.

To get her in a carrier or crate, pick her up and put her in the crate.  Its not that hard.  You don't need to corner her or chase her, just walk up to her and pick her up.

When animals in the wild are sick, they try to act normal because any sign of illness can attract potential predators. When they are really sick, then they will try to find a place to hide. Therefore there may be something really seriously wrong with her. You need to get her to the vet as soon as possible, so keep trying.

Try to get her in one small room. Then, sit quietly until she comes out. Talk softly to her. Bring water and anything you think she might eat. Otherwise, see if there is a traveling vet who can come by.

She wants to be left alone because she knows her time on Earth is almost over.
