Is it healthy to run the 2 mile two weeks in a row (TRACK RUNNERS PLEASE, also need answered fast, need to tell my coach ASAP)?

I m in indoor track, and I badly want to qualify or at least come close to qualifying for my conference two mile. I had one chance yesterday, but I stitched up and didn t finish with a good time. My PR is an 11:03, and I know I m capable of running that or faster. Problem is I only have one other chance to run it again, and if I do it means running it two weeks in a row. So for any distance runners who are on track, if I were to do this for a single time where I ran the two mile a second time, one week after the last, would that be a smart decision (health wise) so I can go for the qualifying time?

At the high school level, plenty of runners are racing every week (some even twice per week) without any ill effects.

Go for it. My son runs five miles daily in the spring to prepare for a marathon. In fact, I know of marathoners that run back to back to back.

No. Your body will be too tired out.
