No. Wheat is an inflammatory food, and humans do not need to eat grains at all. People with arthritis should avoid wheat like the plague

If you have Celiac disease it is bad for you because of the gluten protein. Other wise it's fine. It has the highest protein to calorie ratio of all grains, although it is not a complete protein. Quinoa is the only grain with a complete protein. It would be difficult to get enough calories with out grains.

Whole wheat bread has more fiber than "white bread", so it would better for you than white bread.
