If you're eating a lot of grains, fruits, fruit juices, sodas and sugars, sure it's a weight gaining diet. And a 2000 calorie diet is probably ok for a guy but a female needs to eat a few hundred less calories a day to maintain weight

It doesn't matter so much WHEN you eat, but WHAT you eat. People who snack late at night are more apt to make poor choices in the foods they choose. If you are eating right (healthy foods and the right # of calories for you) the the time of day/night you consume them, doesn't make a lot of difference.

Studies have shown mixed results. There may be some value to eating during he 8 hours which you are most active then fasting during the remaining 16, which could be evening and night. The main thing is actually limiting your calories and not cheating.

The reason people say to not eat at night is because you usually don’t move as much as during the day so you wouldn’t burn any calories. But if you have a different lifestyle/are going to be moving around then obviously you can eat as you normally do and it’ll be fine. But yeah you’ll probably gain a tiny bit of weight but some people just get hungry at night and that’s not your fault.
