There's this really bright star I can see from my house?

Recently Venus could be seen from earth and it looked like a very bright star, so that's probably what it is.

If not the sun, likely a local planet.

Venus, the planet, is quite bright in the evening skies these days.  That's probably what you are seeing, (setting about 11:30pm).  

It is not a Star.  It must be a planet.   Venus or Jupiter.

It's not literally bigger. Stars are all points of light apart from the Sun. If it's actually a star, it might be Sirius, otherwise probably Jupiter or Venus.

No idea, we don't know where you are located, what time you are looking, what direction.

If you are looking towards the west after sunset, that is the planet Venus.

I would say it is Venus.

High in the Southwest Sky

It is Venus, and brilliant at the moment

Yet through Binoculars you can see but its Crescent

The third brightest object in our Sky after the Sun and the Moon

 Jupiter and Aldebaran are bright before Dawn

If you're looking to the west after sunset, it's probably the planet Venus you're seeing. It's very bright right now, and sets a few hours after the sun does. 

id say its the north star...or mercury
