Trump has proposed a halt on immigration in response to this pandemic, do you support this?

Yes, because this is no time to be mixing with people from all over the world. They say NYC was hit badly because it sustains so many tourists and others coming from foreign countries.

I think its sensible to stop people coming in from overseas until things are under control, but immigration hasnt been linked to a significant number of covid-19 cases thus far. Most cases worldwide (outside of china, at least) have been linked to citizens returning home from overseas travel for business or vacation.

Since we have the biggest virus problem of any country on earth, the reason he cut off immigration has to be to protect the IMMIGRANTS!  Not to protect us from them.

There's two reasons why Trump did this.  First, and mostly, it's something he CAN do.  During the campaign Trump made it pretty clear he didn't really understand the job or the powers of the president.  He seemed to think he could just order anything and it would be done--as he did in his business empire.  He seemed really upset to find out that most things he does have to be approved by Congress.  But foreign policy is one thing a president can do by himself.  He banned immigration because he COULD (for a limited time).

The other reason is that he wants to signal that the virus came from overseas.  He wants to send the (false) message that immigrants are to blame for all our troubles.  His fans love it!  They probably even know it's a lie but they love blaming immigrants.

The three important issues today are (1) testing (2) treatment and (3) PPE.  Notice how carefully Trump avoids these issues, or talks about them as if they were never really problems, or as if he has them all solved.  These are the questions that news people ask that get him all perturbed.

I support a complete overhaul of immigration policy, and have well prior to this. Border control is very important to the sovereignty of a nation. And for reasons beyond pandemic response. 

The same people who are demanding that Americans be locked in their houses for two years are also outraged that Trump will not permit millions of foreigners to travel from the other side of the planet to move in next door to you.

The lack of self-awareness is amazing.

Not sure why. Most countries and the free market closed down most world hubs back in January. Practically every country is not allowing anyone out or in. Even if you don’t belong to that country...you stuck.

My guess...red meat for trump supporters.
