Can you help me revive a Thinkpad (Factory ID KS)?

It's an old model, and hasn't been turned on for years. So the battery is Dead. And it won't recharge. I've tried several different cords, to no avail. It's always been finicky--hard to get it to accept a charge with anything other than the original charger.

I'm trying to find a way revive it, but nothing works. The "take out battery, release static charge, etc." hack is no good since it's totally sealed with no (easy) way to access the battery.

I pressed what I think is the "emergency reset" hidden button, but with the unit fully discharged and dead, that had no effect, of course.

It's probably not worth paying a repair shop to fix (probably needs a new port and possibly new battery). But I'd like to at least bring it back to life.

Any help would be appreciated.

Update:

It's just a 10 1/2" X 6 1/2" tablet. It has no model number indicated anywhere. All it says is Lenovo and ThinkPad.

I've tried a couple different charges and cords that I know are good. Problem has always seemed to be the port. But something is happening with the charger. When it's plugged in and I hit the start button, a light flashes green twice. When I do that and it's not plugged in, I get nothing.

Update 2:

I was able to snap the back off and disconnect the battery, but that didn't do anything. I'm sure it could use a new battery, but if the power port isn't working, that would just be a waste of $100 or so.

Update 3:

I was hoping that even with a dead battery, it should boot up when the charger is plugged in. You should always be able to run a tablet or laptop with no battery. That's why I think the main issue is with the charging port. I could be wrong. Many devices won't boot until there's a minimal charge in the battery. Maybe this is one of those.

Update 4:

Well, I left the charger plugged in long enough to put some charge into the battery, and it came back to life. I think it won't boot with the charger plugged in if the battery is under 5%. So I got it up to 31%, but it's going down as I update Windows, etc., even though it's plugged in. It says "plugged in, not charging"--boy, I really hate when I see that. I says the battery has the best driver already, so no need to suggest updating that. I think it'll charge once the tablet goes to sleep.

    Factory ID is where it's made. It tells us nothing about what model it is. A laptop should boot even with a dead battery if connected to a good charger. If you are sure the charger is good, there may be some internal damage, possibly from the dead battery leaking.

    Start from battery.Dead battery can not be charged because it is dead.Amazon has different Thinpad batteries and  charges for Thinpad.
