I think it's more about assertiveness.

I have a buddy of mine who is married.  He is constantly asking his wife what she wants to do, where she wants to go eat, etc.  She's made it very clear to me that she wants him to lead, to take charge, but he never does.

Instead of telling his wife, "Let's go to Red Lobster tonight," he asks her to decide.  He says anything is OK with him.  He does this about everything.  He wants her to make the decisions, while she wants him to lead.

You don't have to be bossy about this.  When asking her out on your next date, just lead.  Say "Hey, I heard great things about that new Chinese place down the street.  Let's have dinner there."  She can always say no and suggest something else, but she wants you to take charge.

She also could be suggesting that she wants you to pick up the pace romantically and be assertive.  Give her a big kiss out of the blue.  Grab her rear end for no reason.  And take charge in the bedroom.
