Math question?

If you beat someone by one tenth of a second or one thousandths of a second. Which one of these is a faster time?

    One tenth of a second is the faster one.

    If the other person's time is the same for both situations, then the person winning by 1/10 is "faster", as in a lower number.  say other=10.000.  9.900 is faster than 9.999.

    Let's say two different persons beat a third person.  The one who beat the 3rd person by a tenth of a second had a faster time than the one who beat the 3rd person by one thousandth of a second.

    Trick question. Whether I beat them by one tenth or one thousandth of a second, this doesn’t correlate to my overall time
