If I fully paid for & purchased a piece of land, would I have to deal with any bullsh*t regarding it, like paying some kind of property tax?

Update:

..or land owner tax.

Yes ... I still can't understand how we were misled into it but we no longer OWN anything. You just rent from the government any property you own. Whatever shred of rights you had on basically anything else was given away with the 16th amendment. Yet another reason why EVERY piece of legislation should have sunset clauses attached.

Property Tax..............absolutely...........no matter how you paid for it.

All land has property tax assigned to it.

Of course you would owe real estate taxes.  You are not taxed on the mortgage, you are taxed on the ownership.

In almost all areas of the US you owe property taxes on any land--whether or not it contains a structure, dwelling or is buildable.  Just because it's paid for in full has no bearing on whether or not you owe taxes. I have no idea if this is the same in other areas of the world.

It depends where the land is located, laws and taxes are not the same everywhere on the planet.

In most cases you will owe annual property taxes for as long as you own the land, although some places have exemptions for various reasons which could reduce or eliminate the tax. For vacant land in a remote area the tax is probably very low.

There are also still zoning restrictions and building codes which would restrict how you use the land and what you can build on it.

Hunting and fishing regulations also apply on private land for any wild game, birds or fish.

Yes, you have to pay property taxes.

Of course.  You want the road leading to your property maintained, don't you?  Various other benefits that your property receives?  How can you expect that without paying tax that pays for it?  If you own property, expect to pay property tax.  You will probably be billed on an annual basis and if you don't pay, expect to be foreclosed on and evicted.
