how is islam a religion of peace?

The problem goes back to a dispute over who had spiritual authority over the Muslim community after the death of the prophet Muhammad in what is called the “fitna” which translates as temptation or trial and caused all the discord within Muslim community.

Shi’ite Muslims believe that authority was vested in his family; the Sunnis look to the sayings and actions of Muhammad as well as the Koran.

All the Muslim on Muslim violence is based on that split!

Over 550,000 Muslims have been slaughtered by Muslims in Syria alone where there were almost daily beheadings, burnings and other executions!

Isis and al Qaeda is turning Islam into a death cult that will be unacceptable in any civilised country. Whatever fighting may do it cannot save Islam from self destructing only the real Muslims can do that and there is little sign yet of Islam tackling the problem!

Shia seek to slaughter Sunnis and Sunnis seek to slaughter Shia!

France is a target for terrorism in the name of Allah!!

Because China is threatened with terrorist attacks in the name of Allah they are arresting and putting Muslims through rehabilitation!!

Iran has always been at war with other Muslim countries like Iraq and has worked to spread and carry out acts of terrorism throughout the world! Now it seeks to start WWIII.

Sadly there is hardly a country in the world that has not experienced Muslim violence and now Iran is threatening WWIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not. The people who say it is are terrorists and terrorist sympathizers who hate White people. 

Every chapter of the Quran starts with: "In the name of The God, the most merciful, the especially merciful".

 It is far from a religion of peace in the stark cold light of day. as neither is christendom. Believe you me.

Islam even butcher their own for a simple variation in belief.... Ever witnessed a Shite / Sunni massacre including pregnant women and babes in arms.... ?

Islam is more like a political ideology than a religion. 

It was called that because it united the previously warring tribes of the Arabian peninsula.  Though, it united them after a war, so not exactly a winning description.  But that's what religions do.  The biggest ones spread through conquest.  

Same way Christianity is a religion of peace. Obviously you never read many of the verses in the Bible.
