Is it true the guy who shot up the grocery store in Boulder is a Muslim?

I watched the news and they didn't mention it, but my FB friend said he was a Muslim.

    He was a white extremist. The guy in Georgia was a Christian. Do not know about Boulder, CO. However the real problem in both cases are the guns.

    I don’t know, apparently he was born in Syria. That does not automatically make one a Muslim, just like just because you are born in Italy does not automatically make you Catholic. The shooter’s Muslim “faith” might be equivalent of Trump’s christian “faith”.
