How long does bruising on a sprained foot take to go away?

There are tons of articles on sprains and when bruising occurs, but I can’t seem to find anyone saying how long bruising lasts. (Or maybe I just haven’t looked enough) I have a grade 2 sprain and I’m five weeks into recovery. I think it’s going to be eight weeks until I would feel safe trying to walk again. Most of the bruising is gone, but I still see dark discolored spots on the side of my foot and heel. I still have soreness and some stinging once in a while. Is it normal for them to not be faded by now? How long do you think it should take? I feel like I’m healing super slow.
