Do the US and the UK actually have a 'special relationship'?

It seems to me like if the UK (I'm UK) want a handout from the US, a special relationship might be real; but if the US, say, asks the UK for war troops, they can say no (Vietnam) or say yes (Iraq). It doesn't make any difference to our diplomacy, because no one likes wars unless they're non-imperialist, and UK aren't hardly a superpower anymore.

If the UK are not Americas allies, then they don't have any. No other country has liaised/supported America more; think Middle East conflicts.

High Time for the limeys and yanks to realize allies does not just mean two continents divided by the same language ....lol !!!

In present times and in future if we do not unite in the free world ....even if we did not have a special relation ship in the past ....we shall perish to the goddamned  communists and those who love bat soup .

The time for redefinition of special relations within the allies has come ...if we are to survive in the future :

I'm a born and raised American, and I do believe we have a special relationship. At least I hope that we do. I don't get the sense that the UK wants a handout, but a favorable trade deal would be a great idea, in my opinion. Also, I personally would like to see a freedom of movement agreement between the UK, USA, and Canada, similar to the one between Australia and New Zealand. Or we could add Australia and New Zealand into the mix as well. But I seriously doubt that any of that will ever happen, except maybe the trade deal.

    Cheers
