  • Can anything heal America besides a social revolution?

People who understand our country best would agree that the best way for America to run is to shut down the boarders to suspend all immigration, drill here, drill now, shut down probably up to 70% of the government to allow capitalism to operate as it should, eliminate terrorism by bombing all suspected sites (I know this might mean destroying all muslim countries, but so be it), and eliminated the IRS. Obviously neither candidate would have implemented those procedures and no candidate will for years to come. Is it time to utilize a coup to forcibly make America the way it ought to be? I know that's not reasonable nor possible... I'm just venting my frustration.

  • Are Denobulans related to Cardassians?

I have not watched enough ST: Enterprise to have heard what the relationship is. Dr. Phlox looks too much like a Cardassian for there not to be a relationship between the species. I have not found an explanation on the official Star Trek sites. Can anyone tell me if this was ever addressed in the series?

  • Why did Jabba the Hutt willingly give up Han Solo after he was released from the carbonite?

The frozen Han Solo seemed to be a prized possession of Jabba's. But after Leia released him, Jabba seemed to change his mind about putting him on display and sentenced him to be food for that desert creature. Maybe carbonite freezing wasn't readily available. But there could have been other ways of putting him on display. He could have put Chewie and Luke up there too. Why? And what was the name of that desert monster anyway? What a stupid waste of a question.

  • Does the Lord give different degrees of Grace? Can one Christian tolerate something another can't?

Do some Christians despise some sins and not others? Or should they all have the same righteous anger towards those things that violate the laws of God?

  • Christians: Does it bother you when you hear people casually talking about getting drunk, laughing about it?

I hear people at work telling stories about getting drunk over the weekend. They laugh about it. They think it's funny. And it just bothers me. I don't know if I am upset about their casual treatment of being in control of their faculties, or if my heart aches because drinking is a burden and a slavery for them and they don't realize it. I've never been drunk nor even taken a drink of alcohol and when I see people make so light of it, it makes me despise it and never want to take a drink. Does it bother you too?

  • What does 1st Thessalonians 5:6 mean?

What does Paul mean by "sleep?" I understand the call to be vigilant. But I thought the word sleep in the New Testament was synonomous with being deceased. Obviously he can't mean sleep literally. Is he just calling us to be alert? If so, why use the metaphor of sleep?

  • When's the last time you've heard a loon's call?

When was the last time you've been out on the lake in the evening and from distant place across the water, you heard that hauting cry. For me it's been over ten years. Isn't it beautiful? It's been way too long since I've heard it.

  • Why is there a shade of every color but black?

You can have shades of white: off-white, bright-white, eggshell-white. Shades of green: forest-green, sea-green, etc. A shade for all the colors. But you never see any variations of black.

  • Does Mars belong to humans?

With all the speculation and talk about Mars now, what do you feel is "our" right to explore Mars and possibly colonize it in the future? Generally people believe that the Earth belongs to humans - or at least, that we must take care of it - but Mars is an extra-terrestrial locale.

  • What does this verse mean? Psalms 32:2?

Does it mean that the Lord chooses who to call sinners and who to call righteous?

  • What do Democrats mean when they say they only want to raise taxes on the rich?

Having a general understanding of the way the U.S. economy works, or at least, should work, the generally democratic statement that their party will raise taxes on the rich is illogical, economically.

    So that makes me wonder:

Do those people who make that statement not understand economics?

    Or

Do they make that statement because they know people who vote democrat don't understand economics and they are deceiving them to achieve their own agenda?

  • Is this theory about abortion good or bad?

A common expression to justify abortion is that the mother has the right to choose to abort the baby because it is her body.

However, the baby inside is seperate and distinct from the mother's body. It is a seperate life form.

The baby is in the mother's womb because that is where it needs to be to grow into a human capable of living outside the womb.

Until that time, the baby requires nourishment from the mother. Therefore, it is the mother's responsibility to provide it with nourishment.

Therefore, abortion terminates a seperate and distinct life and is a rejection of the mother's responsibility.

Does that series of ideas make logical sense? Why or why not?

  • What kind of trouble would I get into by not disclosing the fact that Ive earned credits at a different school

I earned a B.A. degree from UWS. I had a GPA of 2.99. I am earning a B.B.A degree from UNF. My grades are awful here at UNF. They have caused my overall GPA to significantly drop to around 2.50. I am going back to UWS in a few years to earn an Master's in Education degree. The Master's program at UWS requires that my overall GPA from ALL the credits earned should be at least 2.75. Because of my UNF credits, it's down to about 2.50 like I mentioned. But if I don't tell them I ever earned a B.B.A from UNF, I can just submit my B.A. that I earned from UWS before at my 2.99 GPA level.

Are they able to find out I earned more credits at UNF if I don't tell them? What would happen if I didn't tell them?

[for you grammarians, I realize I don't have an apostrophe in the word "I've" in my question. I had to remove it to be able to fit all the words into the question]

  • What are the Catholic ranks?

I know the "pastor" of a local catholic church is considered a "father." But what other titles are there and what are their ranks? If you do well as a "father," do you get promoted to something else?

  • How do I get to Heaven if I am "dead in my trespasses and sins."?

As a "dead man," how am I capable of choosing to accept Christ as my Savior?

For by Grace we are saved through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God.

So God is the one who grants us salvation? There is nothing I can do to come to Jesus? I can't make the decision? God has to?
