When's the last time you've heard a loon's call?

Oh, it's been far too long. I can't remember the last time I heard it, but it's so beautiful.

Wow, you've managed to put me in a bit of a trance at work. Now I really want to go to a lake. :-)

About 2 years ago, when I was out canoeing in the Boundary Waters / Quetico region in northern Minnesota / Canada. I know just what you mean. Just the sounds of the forest, the loons, and the occasional owl or wolf.

But... now I'm back in Boston. Hopefully it won't be 10 years before I can go back.

Last summer when I went up north.

The nice part about living in MN, is that it's not hard to just hide away at a lake for a while.

We only hear them when we go fishing in Ontario, so it's been a few summers ago. To me it is the ultimate morning/evening sound. All fishing stops to listen to the loons.

Last weekend. On Lake Pulaski here in Minnesota. It's a wonderful sound isnt it?

I've never heard it in real life, although I have a cool loon ring tone, on my cell.

I hear them nearly every morning. I live close to a lake. And yes, it is a beautiful thing to wake up to :-)

Hmmm...I suppose the last time I was at my husband's family's annual Labor Day weekend at their cabin in northern MN. Been a few years...gotta go again!!

This past summer when I went camping.

i'm lucky i heard one let's see i think three weeks ago when i was on my lake in upper wisconsin. and yes, it amazingly beautiful. :-)
