US never attacked a country with advanced weapon systems. So I think US is slightly better in technology not too much. Both countries are not capable to invade each other. US Navy and Air Force can protect mainlands to be attacked. I think there will be a land battle only in Alaska, Far Eastern Russia and Western Russia. We know Hitler to Napoleon, failed to invade Russia from west. Russian missiles and artillery can prevent US Navy to enter Arctic Sea.
