  • A tax refund question?

I know the IRS isn't accepting returns until the 30th but what I was wondering is this: For those that e file before the 30th (like through turbo tax etc...) or even on the 30th is there a pecking order of sorts for who gets processed/accepted first? Or is it a first come first serve basis?

  • why do you or don't you believe in God?

This is me strictly being curious. I know that I am asking for trouble with a loaded question such as this but (and I am being honest) I am bored. Do you believe because that is how you were raised (or vice versa)?

  • What do I do about my brother's girlfriend?

This is going to be a little long because I am also venting. My brother has been with this woman for 8 years. She moved into the house that has been owned by my family for over 45 years, right after I moved out. This woman gives *itch a whole new meaning. She has driven a wedge inbetween my older brother and other members of my family. I recently had to move back in with my 11 year old son because I lost my job and am having to fight for unemployment. We live in a room that was built onto the patio years ago. I understand that she is the only one working and paying bills and I am grateful. But that doesn't give her the right to act the way she does. She locks the door at night a lot, I've had to pee in the yard and so has my son. I have to do laundry when she forgets to leave stuff in the machines. She hides my mail sometimes. She says horrid things to me, which I put up with to keep the peace. Recently she decoded it was ok to talk to my son like that. Last night she started in on him for taking a shower when they were all having dinner. He came to our room crying. I wanted to rip her head off. I've said something to my brother. He's said something to her and she will stop for a few days but then starts again. I'm going to have to say something but I have a feeling she will do something nefarious. But I will NOT put up with her doing this to my baby. I do help out around the house and when I do have money I hand it over to my brother. Any advice?

  • Are employers supposed to show up to an unemployment appeals hearing in California?

I had my unemployment appeals hearing today. It was not what I expected to say the least. With what I presented I think it will go in my favor. But with everything I read about the appeals process I thought the employer was supposed to be there or at least be on the speaker phone. That did not happen. I was not permitted to ask this of the judge so I am wonderibg if anyone knows this?

  • What do you think my chances of winning my unemployment appeal are?

I have an unemployment appeal hearing here in CA tomorrow. I must admit that I am a little bit nervous. I was fired for misconduct, sleeping during business hours. Which I was not doing. When I was fired I was not presented with a document stating as to why I was fired, just my check. I never signed anything when I was fired either. When I asked for such a document I was told by my former supervisor that I would have to speak with HR but said HR person was on LOA. I was also not allowed to see my own employee file. I was told that I could make an appointment to see it but that I would not be allowed to copy anything and take it with me. As I was looking into something else on FaceBook I came across my former SBU manager's page where she was talking with another management person about having a cot in her office for power naps! I did make a copy of this. So I ask what do you think my chances are?

  • My roommate got reported for child abuse?

And I am scared. I live in this home although I am pretty sure it is not going to be for much longer. I am not sure if it is standard or not but a CPS worker called me and talked to me. I have a feeling they are going to be coming out soon. I am not going to lie and say she is the world's best mother. A lot of time I am taking care of the kids. I am n ot sure what to expect from this at all.

  • Does anyone know when you are reported to telecheck once a check is returned for NSF?

I had some fraud activity with my bank account that is being taken care of but because of this two checks I wrote got returned. I know it will be cleared up eventually but it's the eventually part that has me worried. Does anyone know how long it takes first off for a returned check to be reported to telecheck? How long does it take them to fix it? I haven't had to write a check since this happened but you never know....

  • I need advice from a third party.........?

3 years ago I was evicted from my house. My sister built a room into the garage and that's where I've been living since then. The house now belongs to my adult niece. They have keys to my room and go in any time they want. I pay 800 a month to live in this room. I've only been late paying rent once. I've been accused of everything from stealing from my great nephews piggybank to god knows what. Recently my sister (not my niece's mom) told me that my niece told her that my son was trying to get the other kids to show them their privates. Funny thing is no one ever said anything to me. I asked my son about it and he said it never happened. I took him to a third party (counselor) and they believed he didn't do it either. My kids will be playing in the water and her kids will take the hose from them. I say something and she just says it's her house and they can do whatever they want. More than once I've walked in the house and caught her and her current boyfriend smoking pot. It's gotten out of hand. She takes the knobs off the stove so I can't use it. She takes the racks out of the oven too. She even hides the effin can opener. So I bought an electric skillet, a convection oven, a gf grill, and a damn can opener. Then she started throwing my leftovers away. I'm literally living paycheck to paycheck and I can't afford to move. i'm not sure what to do. Every time I try to say something I get told that I'm being ungrateful. I'm not trying to be ungrateful at all. But I can't help but feel that although this might have started out as a way to help me that it has evolved into something different. Does anyone have any advice?3 years ago I was evicted from my house. My sister built a room into the garage and that's where I've been living since then. The house now belongs to my adult niece. • How old does a child have to be to be left alone?

I have seen people leave their kids alone for a few hours at night while the kids are sleeping. I know for a fact the kids are alone. I thought about calling the authorities but I don't know if anything can be done because the kids are sleeping. I don't know of a tactful way to bring this up either. I mean just because it goes against how I feel does it mean it is wrong? The kids aren't really older than my 9 year old. I do check on them as much as I can.s much as I can.

  • What should I do?..............?

I know it's stupid to do any kind of business with family. But for about 3 years I have been living in a house with my adult niece. I have been giving her 800 dollars a month for a slapped together room in the garage. I get paid twice a month so I pay half on one check and half on the other. My son was supposed to share a room with her son and most of the time the door is locked so he ends up in my room. She takes parts out of the stove so I can't use it and throws my leftovers away whe she feels like it. This last check I put the rent under her door as I have a few times in the past and suddenly she never got it. She knows I haven't been able to save to move. She's told everyone in our family that now she has no money for anything but in the past week she has gone out of town twice and gotten take out all but one day. I know there's going to be another blowout cause I do not have another 400 to give her. Should I just lock my door and threaten to call the cops if she doesn't back off?h so I pay half on one check and half on the other. • Is there a legal way to cover a busted drivers side window so it can still be driven?

Someone in my neighborhood thought it would be fun to bust out the windows on a bunch of cars. Mine included. Right now I have it covered with a bunch of clear plastic packing tape and it is not obstructing my vision. Is this good enough or iss there something else I should be doing? I don't get paid until friday

  • Why do you belive or not belive that what is written in the Bible is true?

Is it because you have been taught this from a young age? Is it because it is something you know from the heart? What makes you believe or not believe?

  • Have you ever had a problem with a slumlord?

The kind of landlord where they won't fix anything. Or they try to get you evicted for something totally outrageous? I'm actually trying to put a webpage together to out some of these people and their bad practices. If you want to participate in that then great. You can contact me. But I'm curious to see what kinds of things other people have been through.

  • How is it that this happened to my car??

It threw a rod through my oil pan. I've only had the car for a little over 6 months. I had it smogged, flushed the transmission, and I have had the oil changed on it TWICE! Granted it is an 89 Camry LE. I have checked the oil and fluid levels on a regular basis so what would cause this? And yes, I did have a mechanic check it out before I bought it.
