  • Confused about the Cole Hamels commercial?

    we've all seen it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKIETSxZmOs

ok i got a couple of gripes. am i wrong, or did the commercial writers/directors/whatever mess it up.

    1. There is a runner on 1st.

    2. 1st baseman isnt holding him on.

    3. These both imply that the count is 3-2 with 2 out.

    4. Cole throws ball 4.

    5. Guys says "keep pounding the corner, get him to chase one outside"

    6. Why would Cole want to risk throwing out of the zone with 2 outs?

    7. Get him to chase one outside- isn't that what he did anyways throwing upstairs?

    8. first time i saw it i thought the "oh no" kid was a girl, did you

ok kinda weird post. help me out everyone!

am i stupid with my observations or did the people really mess things up kinda

  • Why aren't Pitchers and Hitters judged the same?

Ok look. Todd Helton has some really nice numbers.

Possibly a hall-of-famer when you compare his numbers to guys like Stan Musial, etc.

But I often hear that he isn't an HoFer because he plays in a crazy hitters park.

But with pitchers, it's totally different. What about thos borderline pitchers who pitched the bulk of their career in pitchers parks. why is that ok?

(just using Helton as an example. you may or may not think he's HOF, but he's at least in the discussion)

so basically, why is it bad when hitters put up great numbers in hitters parks, but when pitchers put up great numbers in pitchers parks it's totally different?

thanks guys. oh and B/Q. What's your WS prediction as of today?

    so what now?

remember, I have to take another class, and I got 2 F's.

    ugh, this is really bad

  • Questions about Juan Pierre and Craig Biggio?

Why does Pierre wear his cap under his helmet? I haven't seen any other player who does that. does anyone else currently?

and Why did Craig Biggio's helmet look so massive? He looked like he was wearing an astronaut helmet

    thanks everyone.

  • Why does Pedrioa get so much credit as opposed to say, Jimmy Rollins?

I mean seriously. All I hear from everyone is how scrappy Dustin is. oh he's so special. there has never been a little player as good as him, blah blah blah

JRoll is smaller and plays a harder position. During his MVP season, he had I think more impressive numbers, but how come he never is talked about as a scrappy little guy?

it's cause Pedroia is white, huh?

  • What do you think of Chad Billingsley?

Slowly but surely the media is beginning to recognize this fellow.

he's a true ace now. he proved it vs. Philly on thursday

gave up 1 ER in the 1st inning, then went 6 more(7 total) only giving up 2 more hits and had 9K's. all against a potent lefty line-up

give this man his due. Cy Young if the Mets keep giving Johan no support.

I said preseason he would start the ASG, hopefully I'm right

  • What players go almost exclusively by their nicknames?

Like you know, Chris Andersen. Nobody calls him that. We all call him Birdman. what other players do we always call by their nicknames

like last week on TNT CWebb was being all serious talking about something and was getting frustrated and when he referred to Andersen he just said Birdman all serious like thats his name, anything else would be wrong.

    thanks
