  • How can we get our new puppy to poop and pee outside?

We live in an apartment, so there's no backyard for her do go sniffing around on her own. We want her to take care of her doggy business while on her walks on the leash, but that has been rare so far. She has been on many walks since we have owned her, and she has only pooped once outside. She mostly does everything in her cage overnight. We've only found one little pee spot inside the house, so she's been prettly good about not marking up our floors in any way. But we really need to get her into the habit of going while she's outside. Any advice? She is six months old--an adorable little black and brown yorkshire terrier.

    Thanks!

My wife and I will be adopting a little black and brown (female) yorkshire terrier in a few days, but we haven't given her a name yet. We would appreciate your ideas! Here's a link to see what she looks like:

  • Tigers reached .500 tonight--Want to collect your ten points Luke B?

You predicted that it would take between 55 and 60 games for this to happen, and you were closer than all others who responded (in your section, that is). If you respond to this, I'll award the points as promised earlier. Looks like it took a lot longer than most people thought!

  • Tigers reached .500 mark tonight--MiZZou_RAH chime in for your points if you're out there! You out there?

Back when the Tigers were 0-7, you predicted that it would take at least 50 games for them to reach the .500 mark. You were closer than anyone else who responded, as the Tigers needed a whole 73 games to break even. I'm looking for your response and yours only so I can award the ten points as promised. Dang that took a while!

(I had accidentally posted the same question in the "basketball" forum at first, so I'll honor the best answer in that section as well)

  • Am I exempt from "time and a half" overtime pay?

I am a charter high school teacher in Arizona, getting paid by the hour. How would I know whether or not I am considered "exempt" from the fair labor act that requires time-and-a-half pay after 40 hours? The increased rate does not show up on my paycheck, but how can I know for sure whether or not I am entitled the extra pay?

  • How many games will it take the Tigers to get to .500?

Right now they are 0-7, and leading Boston by 2 runs. I'll pick a best answer tonight, then revisit the same question later on the day the Tigers get to the .500 mark. On that day, whoever had the most accurate answer will be invited to answer again and receive 10 points. In case of a tie, priority will be given to the earliest response.

My guess is that the Tigers have gotten themselves into quite a hole already, but we'll see!

  • Have you ever seen an NBA regular season as exciting as this one?

Since when have there ever been so many powerhouse teams in one conference--a conference that cannot even claim to house the league's best team so far! I have never seen teams under such pressure to acquire that additional marquee talent just to stay afloat in their own conference. The abundance of legitimate contenders seems to be putting heavy strains on GM's all over if they want any real chance of winning it all this year. Just makes you wonder who's going to make a move next? Is Dallas going to pull something off so that people start talking about them now? After all, they were the "team to beat" last year, and there's been almost zero buzz about them the last couple weeks, even with their impressive record.

I think this season just reeks with excitement like none I've ever experienced. Has there ever been an NBA season with one conference so top-heavy as this year's West? I know it's only halfway through, but I don't see any of those top five slipping much.

  • Miami Heat fans: How do you feel about seeing Shaq go?

I'm a Suns fan myself, but I think you guys in Florida are the ones to ask as far as whether or not this is a good deal for us. Was the general vibe over there that he did have a couple more good years in him, or was he seen as more of a liability? As a fan, you can only hope for the best, but I'm very curious about the reaction from the Miami fan base. So what's the talk over there like?
