Need some ear stretching advice?
I've had my ears stretched for years and was at 5/8" and had to take my plugs out because one of my ears suddenly got very angry for no reason; red warm and a little swollen, no infection or anything though. I also wore stone plugs exclusively. I took them out and they shrunk pretty significantly so I decided not to re stretch them. It's been quite some time and now my ear gauges are two different sizes, 0G and 00G. The smaller one is the angry one and in my attempts to slowly stretch it so I can get a matching pair have been unsuccessful. It seems like the skin is just so thin that even when I used a taper that actually is 0G (so my ear is just shy of that it seems) there has already been the slightest tearing inside the lobe. Up until this point I never had any problems stretching, my lobes are healthy and I don't understand why I'm having such a problem. Should I continue to try stretching or just live with the mis-matched lobes?
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body9 years agoNikon P510 or Sony HX200V?
Open to any suggestions and opinions.
Recently played around with the P510 and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use with the new auto focus especially at an outrageous 42X zoom. It also has a new pro light mode and panorama which is neat.
DpReview doesn't have a whole lot spec wise for the HX200V that looks to outperform the HX100V in any huge way (but I could be wrong.) I do like the manual zoom and the better viewfinder but I don't know if they'd make or break my decision.
4 AnswersCameras9 years agoCalling all sunscreen gods!?
Hi there, trying to make a decision on a good sunscreen to take to an outdoor music festival in the roaring sun. I'm aware of physical vs chemical sunscreens and honestly, I'm from Canada and haven't heard of more than half of the brands that exist. We do however have Mexoryl but not everyone likes it, it tends to be expensive and I cannot buy it in the USA anyways. I was thinking about sticking to something with Helioplex aka Neutrogena due to its photostability and read a consumer report about NO-AD, Equate Baby SPF 50 and another being among top best sunscreens for super cheap. I looked at the ingredients for NO-AD and they're very on par with Helioplex (exact same active ingredients in similar percentages) so that would make sense for NO-AD's success I suppose. Any first hand experience or advice on what I should use? Preferably non-greasy, not white cast.
1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body9 years agoHow to know when Invisalign is finished?
I had an accident about 5 years ago that required dental surgery, and I have had Invisalign done. My last appointment was in January and my Invisalign was supposedly finished. I discussed with my doctor a bottom tooth that was still slightly turned; it's always bothered me and I wanted to know why it wasn't straight. Apparently there was not enough room to turn it, and he said it was flush from the front, which is all I cared about anyways. He asked me if I wanted to change it and when I looked at it I settled and decided it was okay. Soon after I noticed that the tooth beside it was slightly crooked, I believe this to be my dentist's fault because into the second last tray he realized that tooth had not been moving the entire time during the refinements because there wasn't enough room, so he filed it down and it likely moved as much as it could within the time period. I'm not sure how I missed this crooked tooth before but I was sure to leave a note with the dentist that it was a concern. (I was just seeing a nurse to pick up some trays at the time.) I see no real reason why either of these teeth are crooked and I've decided that I am unhappy and just want them fixed. The problem is, I can't figure out if my treatment is finished or not. I believe I've had 2 refinements and I'm not sure if this problem entitles me to a 3rd or if I'll have to pay up. I have some chips on my bottom teeth and a wear facet that still needs to be fixed due to the Invisalign and I have not yet gotten the wires cemented in to retain my teeth (not sure why.) I also don't have the permanent trays yet - I need 2 implants so I'm assuming they're waiting until those are done before the night retainers are made. If I do need another 2-4 trays to fix this and it is not covered with the refinements, how much am I looking at price wise? Thank you.
2 AnswersDental9 years agoOpinion on ear gauge sizing..?
I recently downsized, not knowing what size I was I ordered some 1/2"(12-12.5mm) plugs with an average flare.
I was only able to get the plug on one ear (it wasn't the jewelry, I tried both ears) and I still have no idea what size I am. Do you think it's wiser to go down just one size (11mm,) or two (9-10mm) to compensate for the flares? I'm alright if the plug is a little loose in the middle, I just would want the flares to be big enough to keep the plug in.
Thanks
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body9 years agoOpinion on a blazer..?
I got a blazer the other day, mulling over the fit a bit..also it's nude so it pretty much shows any flaw.
I have broad shoulders, but I also have a curved spine so my bust is 2 inches larger than it should be, making it a struggle to find things that fit in both the shoulders and the bust.
This blazer is a medium and it fits about 1/2 an inch from where my natural shoulder lies. I tried the small and despite the fact this blazer is meant to be worn open, when I crossed my arms it felt too tight. So, does it look like it's too big or could I get away with it considering it's the more comfortable size? Thanks
5 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoBest breakout remedy?
My forehead has been breaking out for a week with little bumps. I'm not sure what to use, salicylic acid, peroxide, clean and clear, tea tree. Any good inexpensive treatments you swear by?
