Will an object on the dashboard of a car slide more...?
Given that the object is up against the windshield, will an object on the dashboard of a car slide more when the car speeds up or when the car slows down? Assuming, that the magnitude of acceleration and slowing down are the same and assuming the dashboard is flat.
I believe since air resistance is negligible and since it is shielded by the windshield the box should not slide enough to determine a difference. Is this correct?

5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoLaw Firm Demands Repayment With Penalty Although Bills Weren't Received?
We have recently received a letter from a law firm claiming that because we have not been paying some misc. fee of $25 / year on our house that they will charge us close to $2000 and if we do not pay they will take claim of the house and resell it to pay for the charge.
We have never received any bills or any notice of these payments that were due. Is there any legitimacy of what they've done and how do we get out of this situation?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhy am I not dateable?
I am an Asian American male currently in college. I would consider myself rather attractive—definitely above average compared to other Asian males—and considerably outgoing and talkative. I have never had any trouble attracting women, having conversations with women, and many of these meetings turn into friendships. I have, however, difficulty finding a woman who is noticeably interested in having a real relationship.
Most of the females I know and have asked what they think about me say something along the lines of me being a very nice, friendly, and comical, but very confident, cocky and someone you could be good friends with but not dateable.
I don't think that I am cocky, in fact I am very modest in my every day conduct. I admit that I am career-driven, dress in a very fine, preppy manner, but I also love to cook and travel, I am active in humanitarian services and volunteering, and besides that I am very optimistic and fun. I am always down for a party on the weekends, going out to the bars, and most people think I'm a funny, agreeable guy.
I don't see where the problem is. Why am I good friend material, but not so good for dating?

What do you think about how I dress? Would you change anything? I typically dress like the first and second pictures (variations of short colors, polo colors, and shoes) but I dress like the other pictures fairly often also.

16 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoWould you transfer schools in this situation?
After reading my situation, if you were in my position would you transfer schools?
I am an incoming Sophomore at a top 50 ranking university. I did not originally want to go to this school, but I was not accepted into my top choice schools during Senior year of high school so I went here instead. After going here I realized that I still had thoughts of transferring schools, but after considering the pros and cons I still have trouble deciding.
Pros and Cons of Current School
Pros:
-Extremely active, fun campus.
-A vibrant nightlife - parties, bars, etc.
-I am part of several pre-medical clubs and was on the crew (rowing) team Fall semester
-I made a bunch of new friends and made some very close friends
-Am settled down and have a great group of people I am staying in a suite with next semester
-It is near Georgetown and Bethesda so there are many internship opportunities for my intended career choice (cosmetic surgeon)
-The classes are relatively easy and manageable
Cons
I do not feel as though I am fully comfortable at this school.
- Classes are sometimes dull and not invigorating. The professors are not as captivating and responsive as I had hoped. Sometimes because it is easy I do not feel motivated to learn more.
- A lot of people here do not have the same interests. Most people just want to party at night and do not really want to do more adventurous activities.
- People here are very casual and slacked. I am probably more or less the traditional preppy type so I tend to be more clean cut and neat.
- A lot of the girls here are, sorry to say, trashy and I do not like their type.
Pros and Cons of Transferring (assuming I get in, to an Ivy League, Stanford, or NYU)
Pros:
- Better professors. Better chance for a more interactive, captivating learning environment
- More sports that I am interested in - rowing, sailing, golf (the school I am at now have them but they are very novice)
- I have friends at those schools and they are very cool and their friends are all smart but know how to have a good time.
- Better internship opportunities in NYU, Cal, and Boston.
- More fitting environment, in my opinion.
Cons
- Far away from home, less convenient
- Leave many awesome old friends
- Less active typical college social life (parties, bars, etc), excluding maybe NYU.
- Starting over, essentially

3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoHow do Caucasians dress? Asians? African Americans? Hispanics?
I am doing a little study on stereotypes, trends, and biases in regards to how people dress by race.
I want to know if people think that a certain race/ethnicity tends to dress in a certain way.
How do you think most Caucasians dress? Asians? African Americans? Hispanics? (Example outfits, brands, styles)
What do you think when an individual of a certain ethnicity crosses over trends and dresses like another ethnicity? Does it seem different or out of place to you?
Or, do you think that every individual has his or her own tastes and there is no trends or patterns in how certain ethnicities dress?

9 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoChoosing a Car: Mercedes Benz vs. BMW vs. Lexus vs. Audi vs. ?
Hi,
I am looking for a car and was deciding between which manufacturer to purchase. Which manufacturer in general produces more reliable cars?
Im looking at the following cars:
Mercedes Benz:
E-Class
SLK350
CLK350 - heard it has huge transmission issues, leaking issues
C-Class
BMW
5-series
Z4 - heard you could really feel the bumps in the road
Mini Cooper S
3-series
Lexus
GS
ES
Audi
A6
Any other suggestions of cars around those price ranges? I am not looking for speed. I'm particularly looking for the look of the car (I think roadsters look nice), how comfortable the car is, how reliable the car is, good handling. If anyone knows of any reoccurring problems with any of these models please let me know. Which one would you buy, and why?
4 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoNeed Helping Choosing Car. Benz vs BMW?
Hi,
I am choosing between a few different cars and would like some opinion as to which car is better. Basically, mainly looking for appearance, comfort, somewhat luxury, and performance/smoothness. I don't particularly care for the speed, in general I will be driving at around 30 - 70 mph on most occasions. Also, if there are any known problems with any car please let me know.
Mercedes Benz:
SLK350
E350
CLK350
BMW
Z4
Maybe a 5-series but my uncle had problems with his 5-series so the others are a bit more of a secure choice, however, I wanted to add the 5-series into the mix.
Any other preferences, at around the same price range?
Please list reasons for why you choose a particular car over another. If you could list any flaws with any particular car that would be great

We are looking at several Mercedes-Benz and are having trouble choosing which one. They are quite different in types of cars, so we were hoping to get some feedback about how each car performs, anything to worry about, comfort, etc.
1) E350
2) SLK350
3) CLK350
If you had the choice, what would you choose. Why?
We are also considering BMW, either the Z4 or the 5-series.
