1 AnswerGoogle8 years agoStats: Consider a certain river. Let H be the height of the river’s water line...?
Consider a certain river. Let H be the height of the river’s water line. Whenever H > 12 a flood occurs. Historically, it is found that H is normally distributed with mean 0 and standard deviation sigma. It’s also found that 2.5% of days have flooding. Suppose sigma goes up by 10%. How much will the percentage of flooding days increase?

3 AnswersProgramming & Design9 years agoWhat am I supposed to do? Unix dig tool?
In this problem, we use the useful tool dig tool available on Unix and Linux
hosts to explore the hierarchy of DNS servers. Recall that in Figure 2.21 , a
DNS server higher in the DNS hierarchy delegates a DNS query to a DNS
server lower in the hierarchy, by sending back to the DNS client the name of
that lower-level DNS server. First read the man page for dig, and then answer
the following questions.
a. Starting with a root DNS server (from one of the root servers [a-m].rootservers.
net), initiate a sequence of queries for the IP address for your
department's Web server by using dig. Show the list of the names of DNS
servers in the delegation chain in answering your query.
Could someone show me an example of what I'd type in the unix command line?
2 AnswersProgramming & Design9 years agoComputer Science Major + Tongue piercing?
I'm a computer science and engineering major && I'm thinking about getting a tongue piercing.. My only concern is that I'm trying to get a summer internship this year and I was wondering if this would really hinder my chances at getting the internship. Ideally I would hope that as long as I have the skills and can do what they want me to do, I should get the internship. But society's standards make me think otherwise. Which is it?

1 AnswerCleaning & Laundry9 years agoIntel 8086: What are the normalized equivalents of the following addresses? All values are hexidecimal.?
3456:1234?
This is for my assembly language class. We're learning Intel 8086 processor.
Here's some extra info given by the problem: The comparison of far pointers is complicated by the fact that two such pointers can be equal without being identical. One solution to this problem is to adopt the convention that the high 12 bits of offsets must always be zero. This normalized format allows all possible addresses to be represented, but in only one way.
and another question to the problem:
(b) 8FFF:FFFF
thanks!
