I will be traveling around Phil for about 6 months,but have been reading VERY strongly worded warnings from ALL the major western governments about travel in Mindanao,But with greater warnings about ANY travel at all in the area around Zambaonga ! The americian gov has even forbidden gov employees to travel there without permission. Is this all an over reaction ? My insurance could even be void if I ignore the Gov of Canada warnings and travel to Zambaonga ! What is the truth? I know that most Phil people will say it is safe but they dont stand out as targets the way us foreigners do. So I am hoping to get some answers from western men who have traveled there lately. I am not all that concerned about traveling to CDO, and Davao But have also be warned that General Santos city is very risky as well. Opinions ?? I spent 3 months in the northern part of Phil last year and fell in love with the country and people ! But I have traveled the world enough to heed warnings as well !

I want to travel for a vacation but am not sure about the visa situation.

i would also love to tell her "you are the girl of my dreams " i think it means a lot more to a woman when it is in thier own language

why are Phil girls so obsessed with light coloured skin ?? Dont they know that in nearly all of the rest of the world that thier dark skin would be considered the most desirable ?? So many i have met that want a western husband had to be told,Most western men are FAR more attracted to the fhilipinas with darker skin !

It seems that every country like Phil with so many people devoted to god ,life is hard and full of suffering ! But in countries where noboby goes to church life is a fun and easy time !! Why ??

Is it their exotic look,sweet demeanor,attitude ? What do you think ?

I asked the questionwhy is there so little tourism in Phil. Some of you said I was wrong in saying that there was only a little tourism in Phil . Well I can tell that anyone with that opinion has never been to Hawaii or mexico or florida or vegas !! In hawaii they count the tourists in the MILLIONS !! A plane lands every few min loaded with tourists. In Cancun mexico the tourists outnumber the citizens!! Orlando and las vegas are swarming with tourists spending money! I have been to beautiful places in Phil where i was the ONLY tourist there !! Thailand is swamped as well !! Some of you may think you have tourism but it is just a drop in the bucket to what it could be !! Now I dont think that is a bad thing for those of us that have discovered this paradise but why so few ? Costa Rica gets allmost all of its G N P from tourists ! The amount of money a properly managed tourist industry could bring into phil is just mind numbing !! Such a huge untaped resource !

Phil has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world (boracay has been voted the most beautiful in the world for 5 yrs ) but almost no tourism when compared to many other places with FAR less to offer,like hawaii and mexico! And the people are so friendly as well. I wont even mention the beautiful women !! So why ??

In every country where divorce is legal the state gets the money.But if divorce is Illegal then the only option (for those who can afford it ) is annulment ,which is just a divorce granted from the church instead of the gov.! All the fees go to the church tax free. Fair ?
