  • How to get .exe on usb device to run automatically?

I have a surfeasy usb device, that has an .exe that appears under the cd drive. I want to get it to run automatically when I plug it in. What it does now is it automatically opens a folder on the usb drive. Also a box pops up on the top of my screen asking what I want to do with it when I plug it in, but I have about a second to click on it before it goes away. I'm running windows 8.1

  • Way too much internet bandwidth being used?

Here's the situation, my ISP's bandwidth tracker says I'm using a ridicoulous amount of bandwidth, in a month it says I've used about 150 GB, and I'm getting overcharged. I installed networx to track my usage, and windows 8 tracks my usage when I click on the network, and they both give me a reasonable number. I've tried unplugging my modem for a couple days, and also leaving it on but not using the computers, and the usage doesn't go up, it only goes up when I use a computer.

I already called my ISP and they just told me to try the unplugged modem test, is there anything else I can do to make sure its not our computers fault? I bet my ISP will tell me its my fault and wont be able to help.

  • Help with possible virus?

I downloaded daum potplayer from cnet, and it installed some weird programs on my desktop which I deleted immediately, and it kept opening tabs asking me to install something, and pop up ads were appearing from the bottom. I ran an avg free scan and it fixed an issue, then used windows recovery and used a restore point 2 days ago, and am now running malwarebytes. Is there any other steps I should take to make sure I don't have a virus? And can you tell me what went wrong? I thought cnet was safe to use, and that program seems to be trusted by people.

  • Way around giving credit card info for google wallet signup?

I got a google play card to buy apps, but to use it I have to get a google wallet account, and to sign up for that, I have to give my credit card information. Is there a way around that? I thought the whole point of these cards are so you don't have to use a credit card.

  • How will the adobe cloud system work?

Now that it's a subscription service, will I not have the option to buy a packaged creative suite at all? If I have to buy a subrscription, will I not be able to use the programs once the subscription is up? I'm very confused as to how this will work, and it kind of sounds like its more for businesses, $50/month is a lot considering I don't need to update the programs that often, Im still using cs3.

  • What do you call someone from trinidad?

Like someone from canada is canadian, but what is someone from trinidad? For most countries this ends with -an or -ian, but Trinidadian doesn't sound right. What about other countries that don't go with -an or -ian (I can't think of any others but there has to be more)?

  • looking for good ebook editing program?

I need a program with an easy, simple interface to let me edit epub files. My main concern is getting a jpeg to show up as the cover, but if it can format text and make interactive links and whatnot, that would be a plus.

I have adobe indesign cs3, but its very limited with its epub capabilities and I can't figure out the ebook cover thing, thats why im looking for a program to make it easier.

  • Help with choosing a gaming laptop?

So basically, I'm not looking for a laptop that will be able to play the newest games on max settings, I'm going to use it for casual gaming and graphic design work. I want to at least be able to play GTA IV with higher settings. My budget is about $1500. Here's the specs im looking for:

    2.4 Ghz quad core processor

    8-12 gb ram

    2 gb dedicated memory

    500gb - 1tb hard drive

I've been researching but I'm so confused. I was looking at asus, hp, and lenovo. I love the asus specs for their price, but the customer support for asus is horrendous and I never want to deal with them.I also heard they have issues with flexing keyboards and driver problems. lenovo's a good company but their specs are lower and are missing something I want like optical drive, 4 cores, or a numeric keypad. HPs, people dont seem advise against for gaming, because they overheat and arent well designed for it.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Btw, im looking to buy one in about 2 months, so if you know of something new coming out with those specs, I can wait for it.

  • Need help with video card terms?

I'm looking for a new computer but I'm not sure what a lot of stuff means when looking at specs, specifically the video card or graphics terms. For example I don't know if I want NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M or how good it is. What are some general graphics terms and what tells me how good it is?

  • How to keep files in order in a folder - vista?

When I have pictures in a folder, I want to keep them in the order that I put them in the folder. If I rename the folder or accidentally hit something, windows puts all the pictures in another order. Another thing is, windows automatically puts the files in its own order as soon as I put the pictures there, its wonky. How can I just keep these pictures in the order I want?

  • How reliable is godaddy?

I'm learning dreamweaver right now, and want to use godaddy, but I'm worried about being screwed over by them. I heard that some domain registrars will not let you use your domain with anyone else if you stop using them, and stuff like that.

Where can I find all the small print and terms and conditions on godaddy? And is there any domain and web hosting site better than them?

  • I got an error message with asian writing, is it a virus?

I can't remember what the error message said, but it came right after firefox crashed, and it was definitely a window from my computer, on the top bar was all asian characters, and the error message was in english but didn't sound right. I just clicked the x rather than the ok button.

What could this be? Is my computer hacked? What precautions should I take? I'm already running an avg free scan, and will later run a malwarebytes scan.

  • Why won't my WD external hard drive let me eject it?

A lot of times when I want to eject my WD mybook external hard drive from my pc, it says "could not eject, please close all running programs, try again later, bla, bla." I've closed all the programs that were accessing it so there's no reason it should be doing this. Should I just rip it out?

Is there a notification somewhere to let me know someone's responded to me in the comments, or do I just have to remember to check back on the comments myself?
