  • Pinching Fuschia leaves?

I am a complete newbie to gardening. I currently have a hanging basket of blue-eye fuschia. I have read that I have to pinch the plant to get more blooms. I pinch off dead blooms, and seed pods, but do I pinch off the vines with no blooms on them?

    Thanks!

  • Did you know that when setting up a fish tank you must....?

    CYCLE IT FIRST.

I see a huge amount of posts where people just set up thier tank and put fish in it the next day. Or people saying "wait a week then put fish in"

This does no do. A tank must be cycled before fish can be put in it.

Cycling is the process of establishing beneficial bacteria in the tank. During this time, large amounts of ammonia and nitrites are present which are extremly toxic and damaging to fish. This is why so many tanks fail, because people don't cycle FIRST.

I highly reccommend that people read this article before they set up thier next tank. It will save your fishes life, and save you a lot of money and stress!

  • How to take an awesome close-up photo with new camera?

    Hello!

I just got a new camera and I'm pretty new to photography.

It's a Kodak Z650. I want to be able to take very close up photos of my aquarium fish, and my ferrets.

It has macro mode, but I was wondering, the camera also has PASM mode where I can change the aperature, ISO, etc. What values should I set it at to take quality close up photos?

If more info is needed, let me know.

  • Greco Roman Sexuality question?

    Greco-Roman sexuality question.

Question Details: I need a little help answering the following: The pre-industrial societys and clutures of Greco-Roman antiquity with thier dominant patriarchy and androcentricism seem utterly different from the modern westand thus also seem to bear out the contention that sex, gender, and sexuality are socially constructed. Can a strong arguement be bade for any significant commonalities in the area of sexuality between the Greco-Roman world and the West that would seem, in part at least, to support and 'essentialist' view?

  • Parasites?

Ok, so this is a little embarassing and gross.

Many many years ago, when I was about 12 years old, I had noticed that there were little tiny white worms around my rectum...

Being 12, and really scared, I didnt want to tell my parents so I took some left over worming medicine that was used for our dogs.

    After that the problem dissapeared..

but now im still left wondering, what did I have? How did I get it? Is it something I should still worry about today?

  • Do not use abuse to teach your dog how to properly act.?

This is not a question, but a suggestion for members of this community.

I have noticed that a lot of people are sugessting that you should hit a dog/ tap it on its nose/ hold its mouth shut/ etc when trying to teach it not to bite or do other less than favorable things.

THIS IS WRONG. Hitting your dog will not solve your problems. It will just teach the dog to fear you and may cause further violent behaviours.

Do not hit your dog in any manner. Please.

  • Wrist pain.?

A year ago I began treatment for a ganglion cyst in my wrist joint. It was surgically removed and the problem was resolved.

In my same wrist however I have developed more pain. This time it is located along the outside of my hand (down the side where my pinky finger is) and I have a lump at the bottom of my palm.

I kind of suspect this is from my computer usage, but i dont know why i would have it just on one wrist. I use a laptop so I dont use a mouse.

Im a little hesitant to go to my doctor, I don't want him to think i am a hypchondriac... lol Any idea of what this pain is is from?

It's getting so bad that I am not able to use my computer (which i need for school purposes), i cannot chrochet, or do many of my favorite hobbies (i like to use my hands).

    Any advice is great!

  • Would you say that Malory's portrayal of Guinevere is favorable?

In Mallory's Morte D'arthur, would you say that his portrayal of Guinevere is damning to her character or less negative than other authors?

  • Anyone else familiar with vulvar vestibulitis?

Almost a year ago I was diagnosed with vulvar vestibulities. Basically, the inside of my vagina is super sensitive and sex is VERY painful. Luckily I have found a successful treatment, but I'm curious to see if anyone else has been diagnosed.

  • How likely is it that I will develop dog allergies?

My whole life, I owned cats at dogs. I am now 20 years old. I had a cat for the past 6 years. Last year, after being away from her for 3 months, I returned home and became ill. After 6 months of being sick I went to the doctor and was sent for allergy tests. When the tests came back, I learned that I was allergic to my cat. It was devistating, and she now lives with my mother.

I plan on getting a dog in a few years, but how likely is it that I will develop dog allergies now? I haven't owned a dog in 3 years.
