  • What is the history of Vetrap?

Why, when and how did Vetrap come to being?

I quite vaguely recall a "new" product by the name of Vetrap coming out when I used to have ponies and then horses. When it first came out it was very expensive and I think it only came in one color (was it white?). I think it was specifically for the use on equines at that the time and it's uses for other animals and humans grew from there. Now it is rather common place in both animal and human medicine/first aid and even in some sports for preventative measures.

    Can anyone clarify my memory?

    Thanks in advance....

  • What ever happened to "The customer is ALWAYS right!"?

Very few people actually like the "New" Yahoo Mail. There is an extremely good reason for this. This latest incarnation of Yahoo Mail is just plain GARBAGE! It looks like they could accomplish the same things while leaving the GUI that we use basically the same...withOUT taking things away (EG: They took some fonts away and left only two types of fonts. What kind of "choice" is that?) and with additions of newer features, but while allowing us to navigate the same basic way. Why do they think that is so hard do?

Doing a search on how to switch back to Classic Mail turns up more than numerous posts complaining about this latest abomination by Yahoo. So, I would like for Yahoo to answer why they are shoving this complete waste of code on everyone against our wishes? What it is that they are trying to accomplish? For everyone to stop using them? (That would serve them right!!!) Do they truly want fewer users???

It's blatantly obvious that Yahoo doesn't intend to let us have Classic Mail back although that is what a lot of us would like. What do YOU think about the New Yahoo Mail and all of the reasons behind it? What changes would you make? How would you improve it? Or are you just sick enough of Yahoo to move to another e-mail service?

  • PCLinuxOS 2007 KDE 3.5.9. lost window decorations....?

Ok, here's the scoop: I made the colossal mistake up going into Synaptic and checking updates to the screen saver apps already showing installed but having those updates to add. During installation of the updates I got an Error msg that stated over and over again that it could not connect with the debian and internode mirrors. After that is when it lost lost some of the window decorations. E.G.: Window Boarders, the _ , minimize/maximize box and the red X up at the right hand upper corner of the window. This occurs in ALL windows no matter where one navigates or what mode one is in.

Also, a couple of games come up in a minimized window that is totally unmovable. The clock, clipboard and volume icons are missing from the task-bar as well. I also lost some of the screen savers...one of which is the clock one that I like to use.

The last time this sort of thing happened, the guys at my local LUG couldn't do anything with it and I had to do a clean re-install losing the data I had accumulated up to that point. I'd rather not go that route again I can help it.

I *can* still navigate by using the words at the top of the windows. Thank heavens they are still there!

    Any ideas?

***BTW: I'm sort of a nOOb that hasn't really gotten very far with CLI yet, so please be gentle?

  • Why do people ask questions before they try the Search for Questions Option here?

I've seen the SAME question asked, sometimes in different ways, soooooooooooooo many times that it's becomming NAUSEATING!!!

All people have to do is type their question in the dark green Search for questions bar to see if their question has already been asked and get answers from there. If the question hasn't already been asked or if the existing answers don't cut it THEN ask away!

So, WHY don't people try this option FIRST??????????????

  • Anyone in the Kansas City, USA area want to give a good "forever" home to a stray cat?

There are a couple of adult stray cats that have taken up residence on my porch. I can't tell how old they are, but they're not geriatrics by any means. I can NOT afford to keep them, myself. :( I already have a [strictly indoor] cat that I don't want exposed to the "nasties" that the outdoors harbors, so I can't let the strays inside to get warm. It's all I can do to keep my own kitty healthy & happy. Both strays are declawed & probably neutered. They're both yellow tabbys. The male is very lovable & vocal. The female is a bit standoffish, as female cats are, & is polydactile. I don't want these kitties going ferrel & dieing a horrible winter death because of someone else's deliberate stupidity by neglecting them. I'd like to find GOOD "forever" homes for these two ASAP. If I can't by the time it starts freezing at night all the time, I'll have no choice but to take them to the pound. You know what will happen to them there!!! NOT good!!!

If you can help plz email me.

  • Does anyone have a good recipe for Beer Bread?

Years ago (late 70s) the mother of a friend of mine made this REALLY GOOD sour dough Beer Bread that had to have a 'Culture' of some kind fermented for several days before becoming one of the ingredients for the bread...NO it didn't have to do with the one can of beer called for in the recipe. :| Once all the ingredients were together I THINK the bread had to sit and ferment an addition three or so days before baking in a "tube" bread "baker" in the oven.

Sadly, my friend and I lost touch before I could the that recipe for that particular Beer Bread.

10 points to the one who comes up with that particular recipe. :D
