If men and women began to live their ephemeral dreams, every phantom would become a person with whom to begin a story of pursuits, pretenses, misunderstandings, clashes, oppressions and the carousel of fantasies would stop.

  • Cat with worms...?

I just adopted a cat and discovered he has worms. I plan on going to the vet in the next few days for him to get a checkup. Are there any over-the-counter medications that are actually effective? If treated at the vet, is it a one-time thing or multiple treatments? Thanks for the help.

  • Why do I feel like there is something missing?

Anyone else? Could it be that it's 2:30 AM and I have no one and nothing to distract me from my thoughts? Times like these make me wonder if this is how it's supposed to be. What am I missing? Why so alone?

  • Baby Eggplant?

Are there any good recipes for eggplant? I've never eaten eggplant before, but figured I'd give it a try. I'm a veggie, but vegan recipes would be great too. I was hoping for something that you found delicious, and would recommend for a first-timer. Thanks for your help.

  • Why believe?

This is in addition to the question of Why Faith? I guess what I'm trying to get at, is why do we have to have faith in god or belief in god (in order to go to heaven)? Why is that the only way to get into heaven? Because he said so? Why isn't being a good person enough? Why has god (or the folks who wrote it down) set it up this way?

I am an atheist. I really don't believe in a god or gods. I am just trying to understand why faith and belief is so important for folks to get into heaven (not that I think there is one, but nonetheless). Or is it that one cannot exist without the other? But then another question arises, if god is an absolute truth, then whether you believe or not doesn't mean anything, because heaven will exist regardless?

Please don't take offense. Sorry for the ramble, I hope that made sense. I am just trying to get some solid answers.

  • Why faith?

Really, why faith? What does faith mean (not just dictionary definition)? What is faith? Why is there faith? What are the benefits of faith? Why can god not exist without faith (as asked by a previous question)?

Seriously folks, I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the faith thing. Don't take offense by the question.

  • Are blue corn tortilla chips any healthier (or unhealthier) than the standard white/yellow kind?

Are blue corn or red corn any healthier than the standard yellow/white variety? I did buy organic, if that helps.

Though this is not officially a vegan/ veggie question, I am a vegetarian. I figured you guys would know. I didn't have time to compare labels at the store, not sure if they would have told me anything anyways.

  • Don't you love the self-righteous?

Don't you just love the self-righteous who exclaim that they will go to heaven while you burn in hell... who answer every question as such?

  • Double standard?

Why is it that some feel like sexual orientation is a choice, and yet their faith/belief system is not a choice? Doesn't it seem like a double standard? Is there anyone who could enlighten me?

  • Why should I not take offense to your faith?

I really would like to know why I must respect someone's faith. Why should I not be offended by someone's faith? Yes it might be intolerant, but most religions have some sort of intolerance sewn into the fabric of their religious beliefs. An example would be that homosexuality is a sin, therefore do not associate with anyone who is homosexual. The examples could continue. I just want to know why I should respect religious beliefs and faiths.

Oh and thanks to whomever reported by benign question.

  • It's time for another... why was my answer in violation?

Don't you just love finding violation notices in your email inbox? I know I do. Though this time I really don't think it was bad, but let me know what you think.

Question: Why do you atheists get so mad? (for more details... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aj664...

Answer: It goes right up there with grammar. When people dont use correct grammer noone knows what the hell that they are trying to say you know like when there are run on sentences well just get mad and not understand but then all of a suddn peple stop speling corretly and then all meening is lost in the ? or anser and then i get all confussed about wat ppl r trying 2 say. I'm sorry, it just makes you look stupid when you can't spell certain words with a spell checker right there. Take the time to properly communicate your question or answer and folks can at least respect that.

  • Anyone else appalled?!?!?

I'm from Pittsburgh and have been to North Park. I'm disgusted by what was done. I don't equate the solution to the supposed problem. Wouldn't it have been more wise to warn folks not to stick their fingers in geese droppings and then place them in their mouths?!?!

  • Is anyone else appalled?!?!?

I'm from Pittsburgh and have been to North Park several times. I don't believe there was even a problem... afterall it IS a park. Anyways, wouldn't a better solution have been to warn people not to stick their fingers in geese droppings and place said fingers in mouth?!?!

  • Why would calling 50% of the population idiots be a violation?!?

Someone posted the statistics on belief in America. 90% believe there is a god, 3% are atheists, and 50% believe in creation. Why would calling those 50% who believe in creation- idiots... be a violation? So if I were to call the small percentage of Young Earth Creationists (who truly believe the Earth is only some 4,000 years old) idiots, how is that wrong? If someone cannot see the scientific evidence right in front of their eyes... that's not my idiotic problem.

  • Are there some artists similar to Paul Simon?

I really enjoyed Paul Simon's "The Rhythm of the Saints," and "Graceland." I'm looking for similar artists with the soulful African rhythms, but don't know where to start. Any help is appreciated.

  • Do you feel the death penalty is a reasonable, moral, ethical, effective, or legitimate means of punishment?

Sometimes I am for it, other times against it. How do we really know (s)he is guilty to begin with?

What do you think, why? Religious and athiest/agnostic folks might argue either way.

I find myself replacing meat with cheese and sometimes eggs (cage free, organic of course), but am looking for better alternatives. Any ideas?
