Why would calling 50% of the population idiots be a violation?!?

Someone posted the statistics on belief in America. 90% believe there is a god, 3% are atheists, and 50% believe in creation. Why would calling those 50% who believe in creation- idiots... be a violation? So if I were to call the small percentage of Young Earth Creationists (who truly believe the Earth is only some 4,000 years old) idiots, how is that wrong? If someone cannot see the scientific evidence right in front of their eyes... that's not my idiotic problem.

Update:

You're right. Maybe I should have said it with a 'lol' or a smiley face.

Update 2:

Though I never said "christians are idiots." That is going to far, I admit. But saying that people believe grass is purple is no different. Maybe I should have said stupid?

Update 3:

I don't know if I made it clear enough. I am NOT sorry I called anyone an idiot.

Thomas B. - that was a my bad. YEC believe the earth is about 6,000 years old. Some say it is about 4,000 years old because of Noah's supposed flood. Maybe you should do a little research on the YEC and get some 'intelligent.'

Because Yahoo Answers won't tolerate a variety of ideas.

It is the presentation, not the stats or the target, that make it a violation. The community guidelines clearly state that you are not to "Harass, threaten, insult, or behave belligerently towards others." You would have been ok to say those 50% were wrong, but to call them idiots is a direct violation of the rules. Don't worry too much about it, though. It happens to pretty much all of us, especially in this category. But the rules are the rules. You could report someone who said the same thing to you, and they'd get a violation, too. Everyone thinks it just happens to their point-of-view, but if that were true, then only certain groups would be making this complaint, which has been on here over and over again from all sorts of people.

Who said creation is just 4000 years old?

You are stupid if you believe such claims.

In the beginning earth was formless and void. then the story of Noah who lived to be 17000 years? so if Noah and his sons lived more than 17000 years before the first cleaning Job of GOD then where did you get the number 4000??

    Please read some Bible.

Stop listening to fanatic liberal banter against the Creation Theory.

And again Evolution is also just that a theory, it is not called the principal of Evolution.

So show some intelligent and work to resolve this issue, you may win a Nobel prize for this.

Sounds like you have angered someone in that 50% you put down. I wont say that I agree with you or disagree, however I believe its all how you phrase your question most of the time when It comes to violations. Sorry some troll reported you hun. Good Luck.

    Reported

    No! Lol! Just kidding.

I don't know. I asked Como estas the other day and some person felt the need to tell me what it meant and that it was Spanish. So I replied, no sh*t. I got a violation and my question got taken down. Yahoo! is really weird about some things.

I hear ya. Basically, you upset a few fundies, who ganged up and reported you.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. That twit Jimbo posts derogatory questions (completely devoid of humor, I add) about atheists, such as "When I become an Atheist, how many Mickey's should I bring to my coming out party?" HIs remains posted. Meantime, I post "When I become a Christian, how many pre-pubescient boys do I need to bring to my coming out party? This is in homor of Jimbos offensive question."

Yahoo deleted me, lets Jimbo live.

Such is life. Funny part is, its the Christians who claim persecution...

Maybe a creationist is in charge of doling out violations? I don't know. I got one for saying the Bible was racist and misogynist, and sanctioned atrocities. Whatever.

I knew that Q was gonna be a problem. They say things like that because they can, AND because they know they will get answers that they can report. Sadly, it's a game to them, and they like to kick us "little people" around every chance they get!

Try to be more polite about your insults in the future. It's quite the Art to Master...being politely rude! ; )

Use your wits...and better luck in the future!

Rule Number 1. No name calling. . . .play nice. =)

Calling people idiots is probably one of the top ways to get reported.

Source(s): lol, Chester. . . Rule Number 2. No cursing (judging by the amount of thumbs down you have I would venture to say you have been reported) lol

I've had so many innocent questions removed and never had a real response to why. I think someone just picks 'em out of a hat !
