¡Razón!
I am a non-theist. This means to me that I: a. Do not claim there is no god. b. Have no belief (yet) that there are any gods. 3. Remain open minded to new information. On a personal note, I am more than familiar with all the "old" information. Examples include: irreducible complexity, argument from design, argument from ignorance, negative proof, and the christian's favorite: "argument from perceived consequences," (i.e. "You are going to hell!") Not to mention ad hominem attacks!

8 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoIs there ANY ethical reason to believe in God?
The only reasons I have seen are:
a) You will be personally better off, which is selfish.
b) Belief magically makes you moral, which has been disproven.

2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is Jesus' death considered a payment for ALL of our sins?
EVERYBODY DIES. When you think about it he lived as long as one could expect back then. Also, the guy knew he was going to heaven? If I KNEW I was going to heaven, you couldn't keep me off of the cross. I would be nailing myself to everything in sight, and ALL of my friends would be named Judas.

Seriously, what if he rose again and said "Remember when I said I am only path to heaven? Well forgetteth I ever said that."

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow does a person who is very selective about what they will believe deserving of hell?
I don't believe Christianity for the same reasons that I don't believe Islam or the church of scientology. If I believe something without testing it for its truth value, I am liable to become an agent of such philosophies that could be harmful to myself or others. It is a moral choice that I don't believe, why do I deserve hell?

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDid Jesus say that you shouldn't do animal sacrifices?
The idea that God's followers should sacrifice animals is all through the bible. Why don't Christians still do this? Is there a passage somewhere that says "God was just kidding" or "God changed his mind?"
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow does this food label add up?
I am reading the food label for Kellogg's All Bran cereal. It lists 1 gram of fat, 23g of carbs (9 grams insoluble fiber, 1 gram soluble fiber, 6g of sugars and 7g of other carbohydrate) and 4g of protein. 1 gram of fat = 9 cals, 23g of carbs = 92 cals, and 4g of protein = 16 cals. Add this up and you get 117 calories but the box lists 80 calories. The only answer I can think of is that the fiber is already subtracted out in the total, but that isn't exact and I didn't think they did that.
