  • What is your FAVORITE lipstick brand?

I want something that looks natural and adds just a hint of color. Something that was good for my lips would be a bonus too.

  • marxist question help!?

I have to answer this question for school. What I know about Marxism, and what I have researched, does NOT match the answers I have to choose from and it's really upsetting me!

    Q. What aspect of 19th century European Capitalist society did Karl Marx theorize would lead to a revolution of the working class?

    a. mechanization of many traditional jobs leaving workers jobless and likely to make destructive attacks against employers

    b. growth and consolidation of large businesses resulting in the destruction of traditional independent small businesses

    c. transition from an agricultural to an industrial society leaving workers more time for political involvement

    d. harsh and unstable working conditions making workers receptive to persuasion by a small cadre of dedicated revolutionaries.

Am I right in thinking the wording in conveluded and none of these make sense?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Will an iphone work...?

This is probably a dumb question...

Cell phones do not work in my home at all. Zero bars. Nada. If I have to make an urgent phone call, I have to stand in one corner in my house, but the signal usually dies before the other person answers my call.

Let's say I got an iphone. I'm aware that I probably won't be able to use it for phone calls while at home, but does the zero bar factor mean the internet on the phone won't work either?

    Just curious.

    I do have a landline!

  • Baby shower gift... should I get something else?

I bought my friend the cutest baby photo album/ record book for her baby shower. Someone got me this for mine and I LOVE it....

However, I totally forgot when I was buying this that the father of her baby totally skipped town on her and is NOT involved at all. Not to mention I have no idea how well she knows this guy. It's not like they were together for years- they had only been dating a short time.

So this baby book has the family tree to fill in, info about the daddy and daddy's family, etc... would it be a good idea to get her a different gift?

Just looking for a "what would you do" type of advice here... thanks!

  • Help me name my baby boy!?

I am having a boy in Feb. I have a 2 yr old named Henry. I have been pouring over books and websites and pretty much hate everything. (Could be pregnancy mood swings involved here!)

What I need is a list of boy names that sound good with Henry, are not too common, but aren't too weird either. My husband has been no help! I hate the ultra trendy names too (i.e. brayden, cayden, aiden, jayden etc...)

I would love to honor someone in my family, but I really don't like the available male names in my or my husband's family (Herbert? Alden? No way!) Henry was named after a dear dear friend, and his middle name is my dad's name.

    Thanks!

  • Best diaper/pull up brand for overnight?

My son is 2 1/2 and we are potty training. He's doing so well! During the day, we don't have to have him in pull-ups, he always tells us when he has to go.

He just hasn't started to wake up yet at night to pee. He still pees in his sleep, and he LEAKS bad, almost every night and I am sick of changing his sheets. Of course, I don't get upset or make it a big deal in front of him, but I know he and I both could use a restful night's sleep.

We use huggies pull-ups for overnight- they aren't working. Diapers don't really fit him anymore either. The pull-ups 2T-3T are too small, so we use the 3T-4T, which fit okay. We also stop giving him liquids after 7:30pm and make him urinate before he goes to bed. I'd say 5 times a week, he leaks at night.

Has anyone found a brand of pull-up that works overnight? ANy suggestions? I'm not in a rush to totally potty train him, I just want the leaks to stop.

    Thanks!!

  • Could someone help me calm down? (surprise pregnancy)?

I have a 2 1/2 yr old boy. We found out this weekend that I am pregnant! This was not at all planned, so we are still in a state of shock. We weren't planning on having more than one child, but we also believe what is meant to be is meant to be.

First... I called my doctor this morning to schedule my appointment to get the ball rolling. She's no longer delivering babies! I LOVE my doctor and I've been crying all day over this. She was so wonderful with my first baby. I got a referral to another doctor, but I am still not over the shock of not being able to go to her. I feel so overwhelmed now. Has this happened to anyone? Funny, I think over the weekend we were okay with the new change and revelation of this pregnancy, but today with this news.... it's like my irrational hormones took over and I just freaking out!

The other thing I need some advice on is all this guilt I am feeling for my son. We adore him. We dote on him, he is our world. I feel like I am ruining our little family unit. I love my son so much, I cannot fathom having enough room in my heart for another one. I heard this is normal, but can someone reassure me I am not crazy? I've been teary eyed over this one today too!

Thanks in advance, I just really need some sisterly bonding and mommy stories right now.

  • Is your toddler a runner?

I just want to know I'm not alone here!

My 2 year old is a runner! Whenever we go out, if he is not in his stroller, I have to keep a tight grip on his hand when he walks. The instant I (or my husband) let go......he's off!!! Running like the wind! And he's so fast!

I see little kids walking with their parents at the park or the mall, and I wonder how they do it? It's like my son is trying to escape our family! And he's wearing me out! :-)

I'm sure some day he'll outgrow it. Has anyone had a toddler who eventually outgrew it?

  • Picky eater here, please help!!?

My son is 21 months and we have major eating issues. He does not like to eat. All he wants is milk. Period. Sometimes, he will eat, and then he'll go days without eating anything substantial. I am at my witt's end. I know if I continue to make this a battle of wills, nothing will change.

Okay, this week he has had a cold and cough, so I can understand if he has no appetite. Today he had one little cup of applesauce and severl ounces of milk. Yesterday he had the applesauce and cheerios and cups of milk. The boy hates food! No one believes me. Currently he won't eat:

any veggie or fruit (aside from applesauce)

    hot dogs

    chicken nuggets

    mac and cheese

    other real cheese

    pasta

    ground meat

    chicken

    bread/toast

    crackers

    yoghurt

    etc...

    what he will eat:

    milk

    cheerios

    applesauce

SOme of the food from the "won't eat" list, he used to eat at one point, but no longer will try it. Mostly, whenever I serve him dinner/lunch/breakfast/snack he just throws it all on the floor without touching a thing. I've also tried feeding him while he is on the floor or couch.

He is gaining weight and looks healthy otherwise. I feel like we've had issues with food from day one as he hated breast feeding and rejected my attempts to nurse. And it took until he was way past 12 months before he could even eat anything other than stage 2 food without choking and gagging it all back up.

Is there anyone else who has had similar issues with their toddlers? I feel like such a failure. I don't know what to do, please help.

  • any statistics pros out there?

I really really want to get this right...

A poll shows that one presidentail candidate has a 51% of the vote, and the other has 47% of the vote. The poll was given by phone to s random sample of 1157 voters. The stated margin of error is 3% at the 95% confidence level.

Which of the following statements describes the meaning of the margin of error?

    a. The first candidate will win the election because that candidate is ahead by more than three percentage points.

    b. The first candidate has a 95% chance of winning the election.

    c. The second candidate has between a 44% chance and 50% chance of winning.

    d. There is a 95% chance the second candidate will receieve between 44% and 50% of the vote.

Help!! I am thinking it must be d, but I have no idea why.

    Thanks!!

  • another math ? order of operations?

I'm supposed to figure out which step(s) have been applied incorrectly. It looks fine to me, but that's probably because that would be how I would work this problem and therefore get it wrong! Here it is:

    Step 1: 3(x + 2) = 9 (x-6)

    Step 2: 3x + 6 = 9x - 54

    Step 3: -6x = -60

    Step 4: x = -10

Which mathmatical operation(s) have been applied incorrectly (check all that apply)

    1. division of real numbers

    2. combination of like terms

    3. order of operations

    4. step 2 should be 3x + 2 = 9x - 6

    5. step 3 should be 12x = -60

    6. step 4 should be x = 10

Seriously, I don't see what is incorrect. I'd really like to understand this, so your help would be great!

  • math help with absolute value!?

I get the basic concept of absolute value... but can someone help me with this?

    - l -4 + 1 l + (-4) l -7 + -8l

    a. -67

    b. -63

    c. -65

    d. -15

    e. 27

I cannot for the life of me come up with any of those answers!

If the negative sign is outside the absolute value lines, does that change the absolute numbers or do I ignore it?

    Thanks!!

  • How much are portraits at Target really?

My sister and I want to get our babies' portraits done for Christmas. We have coupons that say $3.99/sheet no sitting fee... but when I look at their website it has portrait packages starting at $180!

Anyone here use Target and use the coupons and pay a decent amount? We are on a budget here! :-)

I feel like the coupons are a ruse to get us in the door....

  • Why am I so Emotional?

It seems lately that all the sadness in the world makes me very melancholy. Like, I am a little too emotional over something that has nothing to do with me. Like, I cried the other night when watching a thing about the Mayans sacrificing infants...all I could think about was putting myself in the child's place and feeling the sadness and pain and fear they must have been going through... and that happened forever ago!

This evening I watched a documentary and it featured Susan Smith who drowned her sons, and I cried for those boys- and I can't get the image of them dying out of my head (even though it's an image I have never seen first hand) That happened when I was in school, why is this affecting me now?

Sometimes I feel like my heart breaks whenever I learn about some sort of human (or animal) suffering. I never used to be this emotionally involved. I don't want to be this sad anymore.

Anyone else? I'd hate to feel like I was alone. And, please be kind!

  • Questions about AT&T/Dish Network?

I currently have Time Warner Cable, but am thinking about switching all my services (phone, internet and cable) to AT&T, with Dish Network, as it would save me money. (if i get their QUAD package, it includes a cell phone, and the total for all 4 services would be less than what I pay for 3 services from TW)

    Anyway....here are my questions:

I have roadrunner/cable internet right now. Is AT&T's DSL that much slower? Can you tell a difference?

Anyone have dish network? Is it reliable? Also they require a credit card, which I don't have. Will they know if I give them my debit card number? Anyone get around this?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

  • human rights violations?

I need to write an essay about 2 humans rights violations:

"Describe at least two examples of conflict occurring over human rights issues within the last two years between the leaders of two sovereign nations."

I already started the essay and chose the Guantanamo Bay prison, but I need another one that is fairly recent. I'm too tired to think. I wa thinking about China and their fertitlity laws, but world leaders don't seem to care about that one. I need an issue that world leaders have been vocal about.

    Thanks!!
