Is your toddler a runner?

I just want to know I'm not alone here!

My 2 year old is a runner! Whenever we go out, if he is not in his stroller, I have to keep a tight grip on his hand when he walks. The instant I (or my husband) let go......he's off!!! Running like the wind! And he's so fast!

I see little kids walking with their parents at the park or the mall, and I wonder how they do it? It's like my son is trying to escape our family! And he's wearing me out! :-)

I'm sure some day he'll outgrow it. Has anyone had a toddler who eventually outgrew it?

Yes.. mine is a runner.. I love the scandalized looks from other moms when she darts off in the clothing store hiding in the racks and whatnot. Honestly I think boring babies turn out to be boring people :)

I have two children and they were and are runners...5 and 3. I often wondered the same thing. I was so jealous of seeing kids sitting nicely in the stroller or walking next to their parents in the store. My son who is 5 is still wondering away from me at the stores, but i know wont go far. I dont have to worry about him when we go to the park. My daughter is a nightmare when we are outside. If she wants to go for a walk or go see a doggie she will just go so i have to keep a close eye on her at all times. I hope they outgrow it soon.

I have a runner. He is two. It is not that other parents know some kind of secret you don't. I have got two more sons, neither run or have ever. We use a harness for his safety.

My 16 month old is like that. No matter what she runs, even when we took her to the park, she was off.
