At times I experience such tremendous rage for religion-- and all the vileness enacted in its name-- that I feel almost a worse person than a Westboro baptist. Other times I feel much more laissez-faire and I say to myself, 'Self, let them have their silly delusions.'

My mind gets stuck on the idea that I can't pretend religion is harmless, when it is most certainly not. How do others fight this internal battle? How do I avoid becoming more obnoxious than a christian, even though I know being vocal and actively trying to work against this caustic societal vestige is probably the right thing to do.

my son really wants an alienware laptop and I certainly can't afford a new one. Will this work for a 13 year old gamer?

Anyone had a child who experienced Febrile Seizures? Our son had one yesterday when he developed a 104 degree temp very suddenly. I've been to plenty of websites, but would love to hear from some people with some first-hand experience with them. It was probably the scariest moment I've had as a parent, and I hope he never has to go through it again.

We own a pretty old house, half of which is still wired with knob and tube (not that I really know what that means). How dangerous is it? What do I look for in terms of it becoming dangerous. And lastly, what's a guesstimate of what it would cost to rewire...it's an 1100 sq foot house, half already re-wired.

I get really frustrated with this one. Can someone who has opted not to immunize their children plaese explain to me their rationale? Doesn't it matter that your children will not be able to attend school, summer camp, sports teams, college? Why not give the shots when the only reason we have these diseases under control is because we immunized against them.?

There is a bar in NYC, it's in the Village, maybe around 7th and B or C. It's kind of a punk/country bar. They have cowboy boots everywhere and play a lot of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. Anyway, It seemed a cool place until it started filling up with skinheads...really scary. Anyone know of this bar or what it's name is? Sorry the details are a little foggy as it was the last bar we visited that night...yikes.

Three friends are sharing a hotel room. At check in they are told the room costs $30. Each person gives a 10 dollar bill. After the transaction they go to the room. The desk manager comes in and sees the slip, then informs the desk clerk he overcharged the group: the room was only $25. The manager gives the desk clerk five 1 dollar bills and sends him up to the room. On his way he decides it's silly to give 3 people 5 dollars so he pockets 2 and gives one dollar back to each person.

So here we go: Each person paid 10, and got one back..so each paid 9.

The clerk pocketed 2.

9 * 3= 27 +2= 29...where'd the other dollar go?

We have a rather old house 80+ yrs I think. When there is a lot of moisture in the room (boiling water , showers, etc) an oily brown liquid comes out of the walls and dries. Could it be the old wood planks in the walls are sweating this liquid? Anyone ever experience this?

Do you have any really tasty original recipes you want to share?
