I need computer help?
I have a problem with my disk drive. I have successfully burned cds and dvds on my tower, however it will not read any of my Windows 7 disks which all work, I have my computer set to boot from cd/dvd but when it gets to that point it just sits idle, the HDD light and the light on the drive blink in unison and the drive does not spin up the disk. I know it's not the drive as I have swapped it out for 2 other working drives and get the same result. I was going to uninstall the drive and reinstall it but if it won't work with 2 other working drives then the drivers aren't the issue either as Windows 7 automatically installs drivers for any drive detected even without internet. This is a huge issue as I am looking to do a full wipe of my system so I can network my 2 computers as I have also been having problems with my homegroup not sharing files from one computer to the other. I can install Windows 7 via USB only if I boot Windows first and start the install right from my desktop even if I set it to boot from USB. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1 AnswerDesktops8 years agoElectricity flows without spark?
I've got a bit to ask here on the same subject. have a 5v dc power source and I have inverted it to 50v ac there is power flowing when everything's connected together (I have a complete circuit with power flow) but when I connect the positive and negative on the inverters output I don't see a spark. I was wondering if there is a way to correct this. The reason for my request is I am experimenting with electricity. I was also wondering about pinouts on an LCD inverter from a laptop so I can connect power to it, as far as I've been reading it's about 12v dc in and 110 to 125v ac out which is about normal for inversion. The other thing I want to know about is: I have an inverter board from a VGA LCD monitor which has a power switch and the cable which goes to the VGA board and the power buttons but I can't figure out which wires to connect together so it will be on when I plug it in or flip a switch, one wire is marked on/off, the next is marked dim which I assume is for the brightness of the LCD screen, next is marked 5v, next is not marked, next is 3.4v, next is gnd, next is not marked, and the last one is 13v. This looks to me like the on/off wire would attach to one of the marked voltage ones but none of the combinations with that wire work. I was considering using a 12v adapter with the on/off and 13v as an inverter typically takes 12v. Any suggestions for these things would help. I understand I'm playing around with high voltage and it's dangerous, I wouldn't do it if I didn't trust myself to my own safety first.
3 AnswersEngineering8 years agoHigh voltage with no spark?
I have successfully inverted a 5v DC charge to 50v AC. I am confused because though everything is connected correctly and electricity is flowing, I don't get a spark from the positive and negative terminals. I thought all electricity produced a spark. I was wondering if this might be corrected by using a diode to force the power to flow in one direction.

I have an HP compaq dc7600C convertible mini tower with Intel Pentium 4 3.00ghz hyperthreaded processor, 3.5Gb ram, 128mb video card (getting a better one soon). I don't care how big or small the games are, I have lots of hard drive space. Whoever can list off the most games (number them please) gets best answer.

1 AnswerCurrent Events10 years agoProblem with Fable TLC?
I have the system requirements to play Fable: TLC, but when I run the game I can't really see anything. I can see "Left click to C, and when I left click, I can see 4 options, I cannot input a name, as I cannot see what is being typed, if anything at all. and there is no button to start the game, or I'd have done so.

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDoes anyone know any decent sandbox games like Garrysmod, that you don't need something like steam for?
I had a working copy of Garrys Mod up until this morning, I went to play it, it closed on me and popped up a small ERROR window which told me, you did not pay for Garrys Mod!, all I could do was close it. and yes I do know that it's unfair to the people who paid for Garrys Mod that I had downloaded it, don't get me started on the freedom of information act, that's not what I'm here for. I am looking for PC games, preferrably offline, hopefully near as good as garrys mod, hopefully not Minecraft. Any links would help, I would really appreciate it. Sandbox style, Editable, Roam around a map at will/ non linear. On another note, I have a 64 mb graphics card, Garrys mod ran great, with almost all of the addons on it, and GTA San andreas runs great, with tons of mods, and a trainer, so I know there are some pretty decent games I can run.
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games10 years agoWhich game am I describing?
You can run around the map and explore, it is non linear, you can have a family, have sex, and have kids, you can kill people, I think you can even start a business, you can rob people, and destroy towns etc...
2 AnswersBoard Games10 years agoIs there a cure for Fordyce spots, and can I give them to someone?
I've had them since I was 12, after I had sex the first time, I know 100% that they are fordyce spots, and not genital warts or herpes, as my stepdad has a medical dictionary (disturbing pictures, but very informative).

2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoI have seen UFOs, have you?
I have seen them several times in my life, I am 26 years old. The first time I saw one I was 8 years old, the last time was about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The first time I didn't believe what I was seeing, but it went back to the same spot at the same time the next night. The night after, I told a friend of mine about it, she didn't believe me, so I told her what time, and it ws 10 minutes before, we were not far from where I saw it, so I brought her there, of course it showed up, it was far away, so it just looked like a light, or a star, except that stars do not move, and planes do not hover in one spot, and even a helicopter has a flashing light on it, she never doubted me again. the next time I was about 16, it was broad daylight, there were 2, and they were very close. one was hovering in one spot at about a 30 degree angle, the other was moving slowly across the sky, at about a 10 degree angle, they were close enough that I can say for sure that they were disclike, they appeared to be white, the one that was moving disappeared when my friend ran inside to get his binoculars, it reappeared back where we first saw it after he came back out. after about another 10 minutes they just faded away. A few weeks ago I was walking at about 3 in the morning, I looked up at the stars, and one of them moved over towards a cloud, when it was over the cloud a green light came from off to the left of it (it had to be huge, the height of the clouds, and the distance between the white light and the green light suggests larger than one of our cities). The green light spread out like one of those red item scanner beams, and it swept across the cloud and disappeared (not the ufo, the green light). the ufo went from cloud to cloud doing this for about an hour. just before I left an airplane was flying directly towards it and it disappeared. If you have seen them, I would like to hear your story.
