I read the first testament. I don’t think I found one nice thing about god. I am trying to understand why people think god is loving and wonderful. All I found was a petulant god having tantrums like a 3 year old.

What did I miss? I certainly did not read anything about a being worthy of any worship.

(The act of creation itself is neither nice nor brutal.)

Five generations after the Noah’s flood in genesis, they travel to Egypt and speak to the Pharaohs. These are a separate group of people to the descendants of Noah.

Obviously the flood did not flood what we call “the earth", the entire globe. It just covered somewhere in the middle east that they referred to as the earth.

It is plainly obvious in genesis that god didn’t kill the entire world with a flood, just a small part of it. But for some reason most people seem incapable a reading what it says, just hearing what they are told.

So when the first testament stories where written, what part of our earth was “the world”? The world of the first testament god.

There are celebrities out there who wont vaccinate their kids but will inject Botox, the most toxic thing known to man.

How do they reconcile this cognitive dissonance?

Imagine if everyone stopped talking about religion.

Imagine if everyone stopped thinking about religion.

Imagine all that free and available brain power we would have to solve the real problems in the world.

Why don't muslims riot and protest against the Taliban for selling heroin rolled up in pages torn from the Quran?

Two Qurans accidentally get burned and its "an offence against islam." I say its just an excuse for retaliation because no one protests when a muslim destroys a quran.

If you think the answer is yes, can you explain why followers of islam get horribly offended when you bring up the fact that Muhammad did exactly that 3 years after marrying his six year old bride?

After 911, the US had the whole world on their side. If they did the christian thing and "turned the other cheek" the support for terrorists would have dwindled.

For the cost of the war, they could have rekitted every car manufacturer and power plant to produce cars and power that were not oil dependant. This would have destroyed the middle east's economy and sent it back to pre 1900 where its morals are. This idea was suggested by quite a few people before the US and it's allies went to war.

Instead the little 911 attack triggered the US to take the Catholic response and launch a crusade. This has done more damage to the US than any terrorist attack. It has destroyed the reputation of the US, cost more US lives than terrorism, turned large parts of the world against the US and cost the US taxpayer more than what they can pay.

Should the US look at complete withdrawal and go back to option A?

This is a question I like to raise when people say, "if I could go back in time I'd kill hitler."

If WWII did not happen when it happened, nuclear weapons would still have been developed eventually.

Imagine if WWII broke out after everyone had developed nukes. Because of hitler, Japan got bombed with a very small nuclear attack. The world got to see these weapons in action.

So hypothetically, if you went back in time and killed hitler, could you actually doom humanity to nuclear annihilation?

Just a hypothetical to get you all thinking.

I have never heard of God, Allah, Jaweh, Jehovah or any other god killing or saving anyone.

All I ever see is man killing man or man helping man.

If god is so powerful, why do men do the killing? I can stand here all day and say, if god exists, lightening strike me dead. Nothing will happen.

Blasphemy is a victimless crime.

If you truly believe someone will burn in hell for blaspheming a god, why kill them? Are you so lacking in belief that you don't think god will send them there for ETERNITY. Eternity is a looooong time. What's a few more years of them living compared to eternity?

I have a copy of the Quran on my computer. Am I allowed to delete it? Would it be the same as burning a Quran?

Matthew chapter 3. Jesus says "don't pray aloud or in public. Don't pray to be seen to be praying. Pray in silence. Don't repeat prayers, pray in the closet, keep to the point, don't copy other people's prayer, don't pray about frivolous crap." Then he gives an example of a prayer, the lords prayer.

Now christians all go to church, stand there and recite the same pray over and over on sundays to be seen at church. They pray to win football games or wealth. Then recite the exact same prayer written one sentence after his very detailed instruction on how to pray to god.

Don't you people read your own book?

adam and eve were found out for eating of the forbidden fruit because they hid their bodies. Why are Abrahamic religions so against exposing their bodies. The missionaries teach natives to be ashamed of their bodies.

Parent teach children to cover themselves.

If you were truly christian, wouldn't you feel unashamed to walk around naked?

Serious question here. In Leviticus it says if you eat pork you are unclean until the even and then you must wash.

I know the first testament isn't the Torah word for word but for my understanding Leviticus means you can eat pork, just make sure you clean yourself properly so you don't spread any diseases from the animal later.

Scientific explanation is that these can only form in supernova and that our solar system was formed after several supernovae in the local region.

Imagine, if for one year, instead of arguing over the details of three books, we put all that mental energy in to solving problems here on earth. Like poverty, disease and environmental degradation.
